Not on my normal beat, I visited this place one Saturday night to watch a gig(which was good, and may suggest they have some reasonable acts from time-to-time). The bar staff were surly but efficient; bar prices relatively reasonable for London. The one thing that bothered me was the number of obvious regulars(mostly middle aged rejects from Life On Mars) who clearly resented the presence of so many people in their pub yet wouldn’t deign to move into the(completely empty half of the bar next door. You can’t have it all ways, fellas.

Now called the Gunnersbury. the darkest, dirtiest pub in all of west London. You could probably look past the dodgy furniture and dilapidated interior if it wasn’t full of Foxtons estate agents. Their head office is round the corner and they are always in there. Arrogance, dodgy pinstripe suits and mini coopers in the car park. Avoid Avoid Avoid!!!

I remeber this place as one of the two best live rock pubs in London in the 80’s. The other, the Red Lion in Brentford was demolished and replaced by Maccie D’s, whilst this place has had a make over and is now called JB’s. It has been turned into a viable venue for lunchtime food and drinks for the nearby offices that have ben built over the last 3 years. Standard Drinks with standard food, the only reason I would visit this place now is if I was meeting someone who worked in the office complex. Very Ordinary
