Best brunch. Lovely art deco old tiled walls. English breakfast sausage poached eggs bacon hash. The food is light actually, must be the quality and not so much grease and oil. Don’t miss the bloody marys.

My husband and I came here on the recommendation of a friend who said «don’t get the French toast but their muffins are amazing!» So we popped up this morning and arrived about 9:50 in the hopes the £8.95 early bird special was still offered. Huzzah! It was. I got a bespoke scrambled eggs, bacon white bread with Italian hot chocolate and ordered the lemon poppyseed muffin on the side.
Things I was impressed by:
— usually I do not like undercooked eggs, and when they arrived I was concerned. However upon further inspection I realised the eggs were cooked in some odd way, perhaps they used a lot of butter to cook them? Regardless, they were delish.
— they ask if you want white or brown toast, it said sourdough all over the menu so I asked for sourdough and the waitress said «it’s all sourdough, white or brown sourdough» so props to the sourdough only bread options!
— the service was fast and spot on
— the muffin was served in a flowerpot and it was a nice presentation. It was a bit dry but the massive portion of butter more than made up for that.
Things I was not so impressed by:
— don’t get the hot chocolate. I’ve had «Italian hot chocolate before» this was definitely not it. It’s like they took American pudding and heated it and put it on a bowl. Not tasty, not worth wasting your money on.
— they served all drinks in a bowl. It was just weird.
Otherwise a nice friendly local establishment that I’d recommend anytime.
