Average at best. Waited nearly an hour on a very quiet Sunday for 3 slices of overcooked roast beef, four undercooked roast potatoes and a soggy Yorkshire pudding. And all for £9. Service was poor, and we didn’t feel very welcome at all. First and last time my wife and I will be eating here

Very nice local pub, with a great terrace and lovely conservatory. The Sunday roast is also amazing: perfectly cooked meat and vegetables for £10 to £15(depending on the meat — the pork for £10 was incredible). The staff is nice and welcoming, and best of all, they have two cats that you can cuddle FORFREE(if you read this Cat Café…). I will definitely go back for a Sunday roast, and they will deserve a 5th star when the beer/ciders choice will be better(it’s not BAD but only big ‘soulless’ brands — a few quality beers would be perfect).

I’ve lived opposite the Hare & Hounds for 11 years and there has Never been any trouble(or excessive noise from people leaving). Friday nights are a live band and on Sundays I hear the dulcet tones of karaōke wafting over Their homemade chicken & leak pie is fabulous packed to the brim with meat and so wholesome & tasty, served with real fresh seasonal veg(such as mange tout, fine green beans, asaparagus) and fat, very, very crispy chips and delicious homemade gravy.

Good boozer. Popular with the locals probably due to good grub and well kept cellar
