Another local for me but first time here and I like it. A new favourite. A proper pub. Too many pubs have been gastrofied and over sanitised. Not the Lamb, thank goodness. Good selection of beers including Hophead and Roadie IPA which was great. The bar is in the middle with seating areas in front and at the back. Pared back and just quirky enough with low lighting and cosy atmosphere and good crowd. I don’t understand pubs that have that hard bright lighting, that’s not what I want on a cold winter evening. The Lamb got it just right. Music, yes with a cool tunes selection and thankfully volume set low enough so you can chat. Decent, clean loos. If you want snacks they have pickled eggs. Beer prices were OK and not too high and we were served quickly. Just great.

‘Pub?’ ‘Pub? Pub!‘ How I’ve missed England, when going to the pub is as easy as going to the pub. Not some big ordeal involving calendar invites, but an impromptu boozing sess with crisps. Yeah! So The Lamb is not strictly our local, that’s Horatio, but they didn’t have any food. So over to The Lamb it was, a proper English pub. Or Irish, as it may be, since they had Tayto crisps. TAYTOS — the food of my people! I love it. We rolled up, they had a variety of ciders and even complimented my accent as ‘exotic’*. It’s a bit dark but they had a cracking good crowd going, which cannot be said for Horatio. We were even able to order pizza as they have a relationship with a local place and the delivery guy was in and out all night, dropping pizzas off at the tables. GRANDFINALE. They have a pub dog, a great big slobbery beast. *What, what?! I’m exotic, alright!

Great pub for awesome rock music! They have a great selection of world beers! Laid back friendly crowd. Defo recommend, especially if you like your music rock/alternative style!

Great place, my local, I live 3 doors down so I’ve been there 1,000 times or so. It’s a casual bar, some would call hipster but from someone who’s previously lived in the heart of Hipsterville, a place like Williamsburg in Brooklyn hipster is not the right word. This place is casual and dark(candles and nooks) and a great place for chilling on your own, or taking a group of friends for a chinwag and a few laughs. The drinks are a good price, plenty of options and the staff are up for a chat if you are so inclined. It’s a valuable addition to Holloway Rd.

The Lamb is a cosy little Irish bar just north of Highbury Islington station. It has the feel of a local and full of character which makes it a great place for a pint of Guinness with friends. Prices are reasonable although a tad high for the location at £3.80 a pint(or perhaps that was the St. Paddy’s day price). They also offer Poitin which is basically the Irish version of Moonshine. Apparently, it’s illegal in most places but pretty much every family will keep a bottle on hand for disinfecting wounds and the odd swig now and then. It’s fairly tasty with a relatively mild flavour but packs a hefty punch that really creeps up on you. The staff are friendly and quick to serve with a smile. They don’t have a kitchen but do offer your standard bags of crisps and nuts. On St. Patty’s day, they had a limited Irish menu that was basically imported from somewhere but was surprisingly tasty despite being nuked. On a normal day, they have a partnership with a local Italian pizza joint and you can order to the bar. Overall, a good place for a drink but a bit too far out of the way for me to make it a regular stop. For St. Patty’s day 2013 it was brilliant! Oh, and instead of an animal, they have a picture of Jesus on the shingle.
