Cool location but DJ(s) play on Kindergarten level. Really made great evening lousy. Is this necessary? No notice on everyone’s request.

Really good pulled pork and great place to spend a weekend. Drinks, pool, games, comfy seats! A little out of the way but a great place to go for drinks or food.

It’s a real shame this place is so out the way of most of civilisation. Were it situated somewhere like Shoreditch it would be absolutely packed even on a Tuesday evening. However what it is, at face value is a local pub that has overgone a facelift to try and appeal to a more gentrified clientele who drink cocktails and order overpriced burgers. Make no mistake, the place is well laid out. Wooden decking outside, nice bar, and dedicated dining areas, and a conservatory area for the summer. There is also a good pool table you can use whilst waiting for your food or drink. I had the livingsocial vouchers for the king-kong burger or steak with a Mohito. I called up hoping to substitute this for myself and luckily they were quite helpful in replacing the beef with chicken(for a small fee). A little annoying given the original price of the king kong burger with beef is £15 full price(and I can’t see how chicken would cost that much more) but given the price of the voucher, FULLY understandable. The food was presented well. Giant double stacked burgers served on kitchen scales. Great photo op. But they are also taken away quickish too :) My chicken burger weighed in at around 600 grams. My friend who had the beef king kong burger was just short of 900. Insane. But oh so delicious with cheese being sparingly layered between the burgers. Drinks were good too. The mohitos were strong with a LOT of mint. This was a bit too much for some in the group. If you’re on the cocktails, the Hypno-toad is fab. You just can’t beat Disaronno and pineapple. I’m sure to try making this myself one of these hot summery days. Throughout our meal, there was only one other group that came in to eat. Which highlighted to me more than anything, how out the way this place was. Food of this quality should be generating solid footfall. The bar was substantially more utilised. It’s a shame, because this is a great american style food set with particularly british service(our waitress was great!) and décor. Now if one could open up in a more central London location, it could do REALLY well

Its now called the Lofty Turtle and is a cool, trendy bar with American style food, a huge selection of beers and the only pool table in East Sheen.

Couldn’t agree more with LSDNick to be honest. I cannot critique the food because I haven’t eaten in the restaurant myself I don’t tend to eat out. However it is a rare feeling to walk into a bar/restaurant and always feel connected, welcomed and comfortable both from the staff and the patrons alike. One very unique place is the Naked Turtle. They have an amazing array of beers, most of which I have never heard of and do occasionally try. Cocktails also a must try here too. All in all, a lovely place to come of an evening just to try and wind down from your day; with conversation if you need it, and a nice corner to settle in with your book, if you don’t.

The name of the place always caught my eye when travelling past it so we decided to get a group of friends together and go down there for a nice meal. The restaurant looks very cozy and modern from the outside. You can sit outside with the heaters or you can go inside and have a few drinks at the bar before they take you to a table. The tables are set very romatic with the candles and there is unknown artists paintings all over the walls. They play the night away on the piano and sometimes have waiters singing as well, some actually have great voices to accompany the piano. The food was a bit pricey, did not expect it to be that steep! They do include a 12% service charge, which pushed the bill up quite high and most meals where from £12 upwards!

Cosy restaurant and cocktail bar with decent food and intimate, entertaining atmosphere. Offers music with your meal, be it live jazz or the singing waitresses(one of whom was whisked off to Cannes by George Clooney after he dined here). Good for eating with a small group of good friends.
