The best burger and chunky chips in the area! :-) This is our favourite local and we regularly walk over to have lunch with our two kids there. Very kid friendly environment with most meals available in children’s size.

Lord Northbrook has a reputation for a great Sunday roast and boy do they deliver! On the last visit I had the mixed roast consisting of beef, lamb and pork, veggies, roast potatoes, Yorkshire puds and cauliflower cheese. All of that for £16(I think) and it is seriously tasty. The service from the wait staff can be a little slow once you’re sat down but the food comes quickly and hot. I always recommend the Lord Northbrook and I’ve taken visiting friends here for dinner. A beautifully refurbed old boozer now a Gastro pub. Doesn’t really get much better. I only give it 4 stars though as the menu selection can be a little limited if you have a picky rate in your midst and they’re not the cheapest of venues either. Don’t let that put you off though.

Great pub with great food. Lots of options of beers on bottle and real ales.

Fantastic pub, and although there are nearer pubs to me, I’m proud to call this my local. Always a good selection of beers, great rotation of ales and bottled craft beers. They’ve recently just launched their cocktail menu which is a welcome blessing for me, even having my favourite cocktail which is quite obscure(Japanese slipper). Food has been fabulous everytime I’ve been here. The portions are extremely generous so have no qualms concerning value for money. Excellent and knowledge service, always with a smile and happy to help. Also they play Harry potter audio tapes on the toilets. What more could you want?

After raving about the pub to Mama P who was in town, we decided to visit here for a Sunday roast inbetween Olympic games viewing. The food(as usual) was delicious and we weren’t disappointed — I had the nut roast(thought I’d give it a try) and Mama P had the pork belly which was huge and I had to help her out. Definitely recommend and the sides that came with we’re tasty and plentiful. As usual, the service was excellent — quick, efficient, friendly, polite and attentive. The only annoying thing about the visit, and that gives this review a four and not a five, is the annoying family that were sat behind us and kept letting their young kids run off to the ladies loos that were right by us and take them over, locking themselves inside and standing naked, etc! Thankfully this was before our food arrived!

Finally, a great local pub! Having undergone a pretty full-on makeover, the pub formally known as the Northbrook has been given a new lease of life. Cosy banquettes, dark wood and framed vintage prints help to create a smart, laid-back atmosphere, and there’s a fantastic selection of beers, ales and wines. I’ve yet to eat here, though the menu is, I must say, a bit on the pricey side for the location. But the pub is family and dog-friendly, and there’s always been a fantastic mix of customers on the numerous occasions I’ve paid it a visit. It currently has no web presence other than this page on Open Table:
I fear once it does, it’s likely to become very popular indeed.
