The orient is located in Deptford Market and its a bubbly environment to bring your family and friends. Their service is great and receive your order as soon as it’s made. Love their fresh juice. But if you wish to stay and have your meal I will suggest that you come rapped up as most of times I visit the restaurant is cool.

I just moved to London, and was scoping out Depford as a potential future neighborhood. First off, I love the cultural mix of this area. I passed by Chinese, Vietnamese, Malaysian, African, Afro-Caribbean restaurants before landing at The Orient restaurant. It’s on the high street, and I was drawn in by the roasted ducks dangling in the window. I asked the waitress what the Chinese customers were enjoying, which turned out to be steaming bowls of noodle soup with various options. I went for the roasted duck with bok choy. It was delicious! Just as good as my favorite duck-noodle soup in New York’s Chinatown. I washed it down with a large pint of Chinese larger on tap. The total bill was 9 pounds, and I was very happy :) This place encourages me to consider Depford as a home base, especially if I can get a noodle soup fix on the high street.

We go there fairly often. It’s got really good fresh food and the service is great. They always remember me, but that’s cause I’m a local celebrity. Kinda like Deptfords Wayne Rooney.

A really good local Chinese restaurant, with great service and delicious food. The meals are superb value at around £5.50 for a meat or king prawn dish with rice or noodles: perfect for a budget lunch that’s tasty and freshly cooked. The rest of the menu is great, too: personal favourites include the salt and chili aubergine. Friends rate the crispy duck as the best they’ve had! Service is friendly, and I enjoy eating here both for casual lunches and for meals out with friends and family. Highly recommended!
