Last Monday was my second time at Redchurch, so Ive been told as I dont really remember going there the first. However, the long bar at the back of the venue did seem familar so Im going to assume that I had been before. The bar staff are friendly and the drinks reasonably priced. I dont have a massive recollection of how the music was but I can only assume that since I also dont have a massive recollection of grimacing at whatever they were playing, I am going to assume it was good. Will I go back, yes I will. Why? It’s open late(possibly only open place after 12am on a weekday) and I obviously need to update this review with how I found the music :)

Unless you are desperate for a very late night drink, this place is not worth the exuberant drink prices. £11 for a gin and tonic, using tap tonic, which fine but costs almost nothing. I did have a premier gin, but even the house gnt comes in at £7.50 for single.

Ok bar with comfy seats and open late! I’ve found myself here a few weeknights when places around have closed at midnight and I haven’t wanted to head home quite yet.

Really nice bar — good atmosphere, friendly staff, and goregeous cocktails. Not cheap, but you get what you pay for.

I’ve now been to this bar 3 times and its now easily my favourite cocktail bar in London. It has a great vibe and very special memories for me. I can full heartedly recommend the red church mojito, the espresso Martini and the crimson crush.

Cute little place in East London! The first thing I experienced here was the really friendly bouncer with the really cheesy chat-up line: You can’t get in because your friends said when the cute blonde girl with the great smile comes here this means trouble! Well I got in anyways: D We had our own table as it was the birthday party of one of my friends and this was good as there is not a lot of space in there. The cocktails are very expensive but very tasty at the same time! You are not allowed to take off your shirt in here(I didn’t try, I swear, but a friend of mine did…), they kick you out otherwise… I think the music was pretty good or maybe it was just the alcohol that made me dance like there is no tomorrow. Had a great night here and I am sure I’ll be back at one point.

A really, really, nice little bar, with a great atmosphere, a cluttered, but homely décor and feel. I was extremely amused that the bar staff all wore plaid shirts, but this is Shoreditch after all! Their use of bar flaring and knowledge of drinks is impressive, as is their selection of spirits and cocktails. Lots of tables and intimate booths make this place a friendly bar to hang out in. Expect good music, good drinks and a lively atmosphere… However as with most places in Shoreditch, do be wary, this place can get quite busy at ‘peak times’…

This is like church as it should be: comfy seats, good music and plenty of alcohol. It’s a great place for a mid-week drink and conversation. The music isn’t too loud and it isn’t crowded. The atmosphere is a little quirky and different – not your typical pub.

I feel I must redress the balance. I visited at 4pm on a Friday afternoon, and I was the only one in the place, barring the two bartenders who were doing prep work for the night ahead. I ordered a bloody mary. I had been drinking bloody marys all day. And this was, by far, the best bloody mary I’d had.* It was filled with loads of stuff that I could eat(an important aspect of the bloody mary, in my opinion). And the bloody mary mix was homemade(also notable, as none of the other bars I’d been to that day had gone this extra mile). The bar itself was dark and sultry. Small, intimate. I could see it being the type of place that I’d abhor on a Friday night when it’s packed full of Shoreditch types, sweating their sexual desperation away. But, again, I visited on a Friday afternoon. It’s a perfect time and place if you’re the type who likes to belly up to the bar and have a good chat with the bartender while you’re cocktailing away your sorrows. Or just, you know, your Friday afternoon. _____________________________________ *No, I was not drunk and my judgment was in no way compromised.** **Genuinely. I was totally sober.*** ***For some reason, I don’t think you believe me, but I swear I’m not lying.

Drinks are pretty awesome here. They had a gingerbread old fashion and it was money! I also had a whiskey sour which I thought it would be a quick mix of whiskey and sour mix, except it wasnt. They made it like I am at a speakeasy; big ice cube, classy glass, nicely shaken, very professionally done. The DJ at that time placed a lot of gangster rap, intertwine with some 80s, trance, and pop stuff like BEP. Good variation of music, always packed. Loved it. The End.

This place could be so good, but the drinks are over priced and it is always rammed. Crowd is good and the bar has a nice social feel — biggest plus is that it’s open quite late. Price aside I would definitely say it is as one of the better bars in the Brick Lane area.

One star(only) because of the cool musician types grabbing a drink. Zero stars for the bar and staff. As other said, this place is tacky, dirty, loos are gross, and drinks are barely cold and terrible mixed and poured. The worst part of the tragic hole is the RUDESTAFF.

Redchurch is what i believe to be a Shoreditch Tramp. It looks nice and cool from the outside but that is everything there is to it. I went there for a networking event which was great fun but the place itself was forgettable. Maybe I am offhand because they only had three beers. All lagers. As a Guinness drinker I find insulting not to stock on it. While I was ordering reluctantly my lager I asked for some blackcurrant. They wouldn’t have. In a nutshell, nothing special about this place in such an special area that makes me wonder how people still check in there. Maybe I am being too harsh???

I booked this place for my birthday in January — they were great! SO helpful and really patient when I kept changing my mind about things. They were also happy for me to provide my own DJ. It has up to 80 capacity I think — and they will put all of your friends on a list for guaranteed entry. Its open late, the DJ is ok(not my type of thing) and the drinks are reasonably priced. Good cocktails, table service and excellent staff. Its fun — its opposite my old place of work and we were often stumbling out of here in the early hours. Great to combine an evening tripping between here and Green & Red opposite!

I kind of feel for this place. I can see what they’re aspiring to, but they fall short of the mark, and perhaps it’s not their fault but the overparticular and hard-to-please London rabble. The thing is, if you’re in the East End you have to work even harder to charm the masses and I fear that Redchurch, much like a pigheaded old man, just refuses to get with the program. The ‘only rock and roll, Soul & Latin’ music policy is brave but shaves off at least half of the potential young clientele who might favour new wave bands and electroclash. Also, the faddish signage and menu design seems to belie the disheveled interior, which would be fine if the place had more character to speak of, but it just doesn’t. All this being said, you can’t deny that the staff are very friendly and although I feel the £8.50 price tag is a little steep for a cocktail, the spirits and wine lists are plentiful and the Bloody Mary at £7.50 is not half bad.

The Redchurch is a little non-descript bar just across from Brick Lane in the heart of Shoreditch. It’s cute, funky and cosy, the perfect place for a date, or drinks with friends before heading elsewhere. With a well-stocked bar filled with beer, wine and delicious cocktails, prices are reasonable and staff relaxed and friendly. But to me it lacks a little vibe, especially in an area that has more bars than bus stops. The Redchurch’s saving grace is it’s late-license, making it a great place to retreat to when everything else is closed and you just aren’t ready for home.

You will spot the Redchurch bar, well, from the Redchurch street, but also from the bright red lights that also greats illusion from a totally red interior. It is a little bar with a funny narrow and long shaped space. DJ on the weekends, occasionally live music, good selection with beers and cocktails. Very relaxed and funky place just for chilling out. With the rare late night license means it gets packed by the time when other bars get closed and all the party animals of Shoreditch needs a new place for dancing around, but of course if you are the one partying it is good thing to remember. This place is still open.

Noisey bar that’s usually really sardine-packed at night. Plus the drinks are not cheap or particularly amazing. On the other hand, it’s ok if you just want somewhere that’s open late(as long as you get in before the cut off point around 12/1am) and and not so rammed in the day.

Every time I’m going there it’s at the end of the night as it closes later than other bars in the area. It’s a tiny place but there’s an atmopshere, something that make you feel privileged to be in this small room trying to be a social person. Personnally, I always went on Fridays and on Saturdays and the size of the bar didn’t stop people dancing at least to wiggling. Drinks are expensive but this doesn’t stop the champagne. The staff is very nice and if you’re hungry ask for the menu, not a lot of choices but the food is yummy.

Finding a place to sit down and enjoy a beer whilst watching some acoustic music for free, is not necessarily as easy to find as one might think. Especially when you find yourself in the vacinity of the busy and energetic nightlife that is Brick Lane. Well fortunately for us, a mere hop, skip and a jump away, there is one place that does provide this, welcome to the Redchurch. A narrow bar, the volume of people often changes, but the atmosphere always remains friendly, especially on a Sunday when acoustic music is provided. The beers are not cheap, but nowhere is in this area and there is a good selection of spirits and bottled beer, as well as draught lagers. The music starts from 8pm and the bar stays open until midnight, so you can truly get settled in and it is good quality stuff too.
