I’d imagine that in recent years, this place has shifted hands as it’s a far cry from the rough old boozer that it used to be a few years ago. It’s now definitely the jewel of the area and I’d recommend it over any of the other local pubs. It’s a great location just down the road from Carshalton ponds and less than a five minute walk from the station. It’s a great all year round pub with a brilliant garden area and an outside cocktail bar during the summer. I’ve eaten here a few times too and find that it’s good quality and fairly priced pub grub.

We have been going to Sun for about a year now and the food and service has been good on every occasion. The wine list is quality and my other half who’s into his real ales loves that they are always changing and that you can try before you buy. It certainly is not standard pub grub much more high end than you would expect from a pub. Loving the family friendly garden perfect for whittling away the afternoon though you would be lucky to get a seat at weekends when the sun is out!

I have been here 5 or 6 times and have eaten here a handful of times. This is not because the food is good, but because there is a real lacking of decent grub in Carshalton. The food is.adequate. It is, I believe, hugely overpriced for the area. Carshalton is not Wimbledon. We once had a portion of chips as a snack. We waited about 20 minutes for these and were the only people eating in the pub. They were stone cold when they turned up. Ditto a roast it came out with burnt yorkies. It isok. I commend where they want to go, but hire a decent cook/​chef. Then you can get away with your prices.

We’ve went here once so far and I’m sure we’ll be going back many times. It’s not the closest pub to us, but close enough that it could become our local. They have a nice selection of ales and ciders that I and my friend had never heard of, and what we had was lovely. The atmosphere there is really relaxed but friendly. The cider on tap was one of the best ciders I’ve ever had: D

Proper old fashioned boozer, bit rough and ready but if you want bevelled glass, brass taps and a proper old pub, this is the one. Some great dogs are locals here. Good prices and some pretty awesome punters too. Worth it for a quiet drink and the chance of a lock in is high.
