At first thought this was a standard london pub, which I love. Football, lager on tap. Discovered menu and blown away. Chef trained in Japan and has kept to the ‘Japanese food that will go down in side street london pub. ’ I will come back here as much as possible. Well priced, lovely locals and travellers alike. My favourite of the pubs from my day out in Richmond. We really enjoyed the outside space at the tables on the narrow road down to the water. A great place to spend some time. Not unlike the road outside, the price of 6£ for a pint and a half was a little steep(by comparison with other local pubs).

Could someone tell me how to get there from Twickenham rail? What Time does this pub open and close? I visit my friend in Richmond every 2 weeks but i never seen this pub. I’m such a folk song lover!!!

I believe this was the last pub I frequented over in the uk this summer. Folk night did well to surpass my expectations for fun, especially on a Monday night! An impressive room full of musicians and admirers alikeand yes, there was a banjo player alright! The funny thing is I ended up meeting a fellow couchsurfer(who lives 20 km away from me!) also from Canada at said place. Coincidence? I think not Friendly folks all around, mind you, a bit of advice; be sure not to mutter a single word during the folk-ification(these people are serious about their music) I got a few scowls from chatting before I figured that out. Two Canadian thumbs upand a plate of poutine ;)

Nestled down a tiny cobbled street, the Waterman’s Arms is a real hidden gem of a pub. The interior takes you back in time, come in in wintertime to enjoy an open fire, and to feel like you’re sitting in someone’s front one. In fact it is no less than Bill’s front room — a landlord so friendly he’s not unknow to buy the whole pub a drink from time to time! The real hidden secret to this place is Monday night — upstairs is open-mic folk, and there’s an electic bunch of musicians to entertain you for free. I’ll certainly be there tonight…
