Joyless retail barn– good for kitchenware (there are usually some hidden gems), or jeans in slightly the wrong size.

TK Maxx is an unexpected saviour for those who struggle to find clothes to fit them and a fantastic concept for everyone else.
The idea is simple: TK Maxx buys clothes at the end of their line for peanuts and sells them for just above peanuts to the public. Their selling point is brands for a lot less, which is true and attractive enough in itself.
For me however, as a gentleman of some height who struggles to find trousers in other stores and then generally gets ripped-​off when he does, TK Maxx is a God-​send. Not only do they buy loads of US brands which do my size, but they also very conveniently organise all their clothes by size, meaning I can simply stroll up to the rack in question and then sort through all the clothes that are likely to fit me in one fell swoop. No trekking to each store for the same outcome. AND it’s super-​cheap, typically £30 for trousers, which for a tall guy, is hard to find.
So TK Maxx, I salute you. May you long find business in these here shores.

This TK Maxx is one of my fave TK Maxx locations in London. The homewares section and the stationery (often including papercrafting items) section in particular are really great. They usually have enough staff on the tills so that you never wait in line long, and the location of the store itself is really convenient and in a nice area full of lots of shopping options.

I like this branch because I always find something nice in home section, not many of them has got it. Clapham Junction is not the best for cloths shopping but TK Maxx is an exception.

TK Maxx the sister store to the US TJ Maxx and it’s pretty consistent however I have noticed higher level brands at TK vs TJ. I’ve never found a Prada or D&G at a TJ Maxx in the US so kudos to the UK stores for offering more. The deals are good and depending on the store size you’ll find a good variety of items. This store is pretty well maintained and seems to restock often so there’s always new items. I agree that sometimes it’s «luck of the draw» but aren’t all stores.
TK Maxx is a good place to find nice fashion and merchandice at very reasonable prices compared to the High Street shops. This American Southerner says if you want to look your best and not spend an excessive about this is the place to do it y’all!

I’m a huge fan. You can find some really great looks for the cheap.
Good variety of items, though, you do have to rifle through things.

I see TK Maxx as a necessary evil, as I only go there when looking for bargain ski wear (approx. every 5 years).
Compared with the prices served up by snow and rock and other specialist retailers TK Maxx is an absolute bargain, who cares if what your buying is «last season». The hidden price is the mental torture of having to shop there. Once you have sifted through racks and racks of ski jackets and trousers then queued to pay you never want to return.

I do like this store, you can find most things. its fun for people who like to shop and rifle through the racks. that would be me. Others like to know what they are going to buy before they get in the shop. This probably isnt for them. They have the good, the bad and the ugly here but always a bargain. Today I bought gym pants and just looked at everything else. For coats the sales on them is too good to be true. However at the check out there is no sense of urgency to serve the customers, which is very annoying especially as there is so much staff and registers.

A disorganised branch with stuff all over the place, and sometimes you can find a great bag just lying on the floor. Although this is typical of any T K Maxx, it is worse in this branch.
In spite of this, you can always find some good stuff if you have the time to look hard enough.
Also, it is great located just outside Clapham Junction train station.

I half agree with the first review. Yes, their stuff sometimes looks disorganised and displays aren’t quite to cut but you do find some good stuff here. Dresses, bags and underwear is great if you look through properly. I quite like their gifts ideas displays at the tills because it helps a lot especially considering their prices. Their shoes do look second hand but then again if you do look had enough there are a few nice ones. All in all, a real bargain though, as ‘DavePearce1’ has noted.

Now my friends had told me about TK Maxx forever, proudly showing off their £10 Armani dresses and Chloe shoes. So I finally make the trek down south to check it out. And how disappointed I was. Looking more like a thrift store than a designer outlet, clothes were strewn about and there didn’t seem to be any real order in the place.
And I could not find a thing I liked — yes, stock changes regularly and I guess it’s a matter of ‘The luck of the draw’, and I was clearly not lucky. I highly doubt I’ll be going back again to find out.

Flippin love TK Maxx. It’s set out like a massive jumble sale, and you do need to have a right good rummage around to find the gems, but with perseverance and dedication you WILL find them.
Great for things like cushions and bed sets, they also have a great shoe section. There’s always some designer labels hidden amongst the tat littering the shop. If you are a headstrong bargain hunter, then get your arse here and rummage to your hearts consent.

Quite why they had to change the name from TJ Maxx to TK Maxx when they brought the store over to the UK is beyond me, but maybe I am missing a trick. There are a few of these dotted around the UK, and they are a pretty popular place to pick up a bargain, if you can tolerate the car boot sale nature of the store. Most of the stuff in there is pure dross, lots of fitness gear with broken packaging, clothes that nobody in their right mind would leave the house wearing and ugly vases. This is part of the beauty of the store, you have to dig through all of this to get to the decent stuff. Everything is heavily discounted, and there are usually a few top brands like DKNY and Betty Jackson lurking in among all the high street stuff. Don’t even bother with TK Maxx unless you have an hour or so to spare, as you are unlikely to find much without looking at every item.

I hate this place, can not find any decent clothes, too much chaos & badly organised displays.

I love shopping at TK Maxx. I always get nice and quality clothes for myself and my family. Their clearance stuff is great, I have bought plenty designer jeans really cheap! The only downside is the people blocking the aisles with their trollies!

Five years ago I was working with a guy who was popping to the shops with the words, I’m going to buy some underwear from TK Maxx. I looked on aghast. Wasn’t this the second hand shop? Was he wise?
It turns out, as usual, that I was wrong. These guys don’t do second hand, they do old seasons. Which means clothes that look exactly the same as new seasons, but half the price. I now come here for shoes (always) shirts (often) and jeans (occasionally). Sometimes hard to find what you’re looking for, but persevere, and more often than not, you’ll be rewarded with a real bargain.

I just love TK MAXX. For everything. You can’t really go there for a particular thing but if you feel like a bit of a retail therapy it’s just great. The chances are you won’t walk away without buying something, even if you wouldn’t find a top or jeans you would always end up buying costmetics or a pair of shoes or a handbag! A lot of it is designer stuff for very decent prices. Just brilliant.
