A great local library with an über friendly and helpful staff. Catering to the diverse population around the White Chapel area, this isn’t the best place to look for classics, but the number of titles they have in foreign languages is astounding. The children’s literature section has also been given top-​priority and you’ll find an wonderful array of picture books and stories for kids that are great to peruse for the sheer fun of it. I’ve also been consistently impressed by their dance and theatre section — not the typical sort of thing for a small library to have collected so thoroughly.
The other great part about this library is the darling café on the top floor; it offers some of the most marvelous views of the city and carries an inexpensive, but good-​looking, selection of quiches and sandwiches. Did I mention there’s free Wi-​Fi?
True to its name, the Learning Centre also offers an amazing amount of classes and workshops on everything from art to finance — so complimentary, and some for a nominal fee. This really is an amazing little place — each time I go there it always manages to please me in some new way.
