While it was semi busy that did not excuse the rather poor service we received during our visit. It took over 15 minutes to even be given menus while other tables who were seated after us were given them immediately. The small cheese and charcuterie board that we ordered to share as a starter came at the same time as the rest of the food so there was no room for everything on the table and at no point were we asked if everything was OK or if we would like any further drinks or dessert. With the negatives out-of-the-way here’s the positive. The food was fantastic! The mixed platter that we ordered was heaped with four different cheeses, three meats, three types of bread(not pictured) and chutney. Far more food than we expected for a mere £7.95. Of course with our hot mains already at the table we tucked into those first and had the cheese as an almost dessert. To eat I went for the grilled Toulouse sausages with bubble & squeak, french beans and red wine jus. Two fat juicy sausages split in two piled on top of a large helping of bubble & squeak drizzled with a thick gravy. The sausages were well cooked, the mash smooth with the added crunch of grated carrots and cabbage throughout and I couldn’t even complain about a lack of gravy. Another slight annoyance was the number of homeless people/beggars who would come up and ask us for money which of course makes you feel very guilty about the meal you are about to indulge in. There were a total of three of them during our visit and while this is not a fault of the restaurant I would recommend that you pick a table indoors instead of out if given the chance for this reason.

Horrible service while visiting London — slow, rude and turn unprofessional. The order was slow to arrive, the bill was incorrect and finally the waiter haggled for a tip even though the service charge was already included. Portions are small, the dishes are uninspired. Best to avoid.

A quiet street in Mayfair, less touristy than some of the other outdoor dining areas. Entrees of Duck Duo, and Lemon Sole were flavorful, fresh, and satisfying. Dessert was the highlight, and redefined the entire evening. Our server suggestively recommended the Strawberry Mille Feuilles. A dazzling, captivating blend of delicate, airy, and flaky puff pastry, layered with custard, fresh strawberries, and topped with confectioners sugar After several minutes of mmm’s, oohh’s, and aahh’s my wife provocatively asked if I wanted her to become a pastry chef. Yes, I replied with an alluring and magnetic glance… there was no hesitation. It was that good. Rounded up to 3 and ½ stars

We enjoyed an excellent breakfast at Truc Vert. We dined here for a late breakfast during the weekday at the recommendation of our hotel concierge. Seating was readily available inside and out and we were promptly seated. The staff were attentive to us. The food was excellent. We ordered pancakes and chocolate croissants. Both were perfectly prepared. The pancakes were very good and the blueberry compote was excellent. The café au lait and tea were served very hot and tasted as we expected.

Had a burger here(Wagyu beef, I believe), which was pretty solid. The chips were decent, too. The value isn’t spectacular, but that’s the neighbourhood. The beer range is mediocre. The service could have been better. In some ways this might be a generous three-star rating, but the burger was very well made, so this place has that going for it.

I had a dinner booked with my wife last week. Very disappointed with service and meals. The duck leg I had was bland. Dessert order was completely mixed up. We had to wait for 30 minutes and then a member of staff asked us if we had ordered a dessert. Staff seemed to lack training. The wine waitress left the cork of our wine bottle at the table. They seemed to struggle with clearance and dropped quite a lot of cutlery. Very disappointing experience…

Stopped in after a stroll on Oxford Street. Bistro styled room. Very quiet on a Monday night. Had been next door at Suze before, but this was first visit to Truc Vert. I had the cod main, which was absolutely delicious, while the wife had calves liver main also very nicely done. Washed it down with a bottle of Australian«Explorer 2010 Cabernet Shiraz Langhorne Creek», which was actually nice and not overly fruity. Coming from the US it takes a bit of getting used to to pay 24GBP($ 36) for one of the lowest priced wines on the menu, but we still enjoyed our meal.

I would say that the food for 3 star(good menu, with several solid options like rose veal with butternut squash, tuna steak with butter beans) but adding another star because the service really was lovely. For example, I ordered one wine — the cheapest Tempranillo — which was hideous… When I grimaced the waitress asked me if the wine was off. I responded that it was not corked, just horrible and she kindly offered to let me choose again. This time recommending an equally cheap red wine(Duoro) which was much more drinkable. She didn’t have to do that, so I was touched. Good, generous cheeseboard with delicious fruit and nut bread.

THe best customer service and the food is always very high quality and I like that there are always new, fresh items to choose from. It’s located right off the main street so its quiet if you’d like to sit outside.

Pics@Chopstix2Steaknives I found myself dining in Truc Vert when catching up with a friend. Operating unobtrusively in Marylebone, it did take a bit of effort to find it. What can I say about the food? Great but forgettable. It does satisfy the tummy but not your heart or mind.

Came here for dinner on Wednesday. Had a squid salad sort of dish for starters which I really enjoyed, swordfish with vegetables in a green thai sauce for main very good but the swordfish was maybe a bit overdone, and apple tatin with clotted cream for dessert, which was amazing. The service was friendly and attentive, the waiter was giving us his recommendations for the food choices and I asked him to choose a wine for me to go with my first two courses, and he chose a great one

Can’t say enough about their breakfast menu. Fantabulous! Good service and free wifi makes the deal even sweeter.

I had an excellent experience here from beginning to end. I started with the deep fried courgette and the duck with sweet potato for my main. As always, I ended with my usual espresso which was also great. The décor is nothing special but the service is excellent and the food is good. Nothing else to say really, two thumbs up.

I pass this place when I go to the gym from work and so I had built up my expectation as its terrace is always very busy for breakfast and lunch so I decided to plan a special dinner out for me and my partner, but I was a bit dissapointed. The food was quite good, and its prices quite expensive, but I was expecting this already because of its location. However, the service was poor, not attentive at all(although the place was empty) and the food took ages to come too. So may be better for a coffee and a toast for breakfast, but definitely not that good for the special dinner that I had planned. A shame.

I had an early morning appointment at the American embassy on Grosvenor Square to obtain a visa for my forthcoming trip to the USA. Just a stone’s throw away is Truc Vert and the waft of bacon aroma and the word delicatessen drew me into the shop. It’s a nice spot for breakfast if you’re heading for the embassy — nice, classy feel with appropriately premium prices for the food. My scrambled egg with smoked salmon was nicely cooked. There are nice deli goods for sale on the shelves but I do wonder whether the foodstuffs are homemade or just the labels on the bottles! Truc Vert also serve lunch and dinner. Probably worth a look.

Good coffee. Good breakfast. Good brunch. Good for lunch. Free wifi. Sometimes full of wankers(but it is W1 after all) Occasional gaps in service– just like you’re really in France! Lovely décor. Off the beaten path. Good place for a date(first or subsequent). Speaking of… I haven’t taken my lovely here! If you’ll excuse me…

A traditional French cafè by day and a more upscale restaurant at night, this dining spot offers excellent food at moderate prices. Our first visit here was for breakfast — the buttermilk pancakes, served with a blueberry compote, were surprisingly light, and the French toast, made with brioche, was served with a delectable banana-favored maple syrup. Our only complaint is that we were charged 75p for a side order of this same syrup for the pancakes! We returned here for dinner a few nights later. The fixed menu, offering three course for £22.50, is an excellent bargain, but the options on the a la carte menu sounded more interesting. To start we shared a platter of various pates with cornichons. For my entrée, I had roast pork fillet wrapped in Parma ham, served with sautéed cabbage, mushrooms, and tomato chutney, and my husband ordered the Scottish ribeye steak with mash and French beans. For dessert we shared an individual pear pie topped with pineapple sorbet. Everything was excellent. Wine prices are very reasonable. We had a bottle of delicious Argentinian chardonnay that was only £10.90. However, once again we were annoyed by what we felt was a superfluous charge, £2.95 each for an assortment of homemade bread that was delicious but should have been complimentary. If it weren’t for these extra fees, I probably would rate Truc Vert a full five stars.

Decent, but doesn’t dare venture toward the limits of «Wow.» House Bordeaux was actually reliable and started everything off well. I considered starting with a cheese platter but wasn’t hot about the selection of brie, blue and goat. Eh. Could try harder. Went straight for the Traditional English Roast of Lamb’s Neck. On a scale of 1 – 10, the entrée gets 8. It had a great glaze and came with a healthy bed of roots and the meat was at a perfect balance between texture and flavor. On the other hand, while the glaze carried a great rosemary flavor, the actual rosemary used to roast the lamb got a bit bitter in the mouth and it was hard to pick out. The atmosphere is quaint and nice touch with the chalk boards on the walls advertising daily and weekly specials. Not as authentically French, rather more new American(New England? Hmm, interesting opportunity for puns… but alas). Good place to bring professional associates as the service is impeccably clean and attentive. Seems a good place for breakfast as well though have never been, just walked by.

I love this little French restaurant on North Audley Street. It’s the perfect place to take business associates, whichever time of day you require it. The décor is clean and quite quaint, the service is great. Their menu changes throughout the day and, whilst I’ve never dined in the evening, i can recommend coming here for brunch or lunch as the food and breakfasts are wonderful. Good wine menu as well. Okay, the prices aren’t cheap, so it’s not a place for a quick snack, but as a place for a nice treat or to spend the companies money then this is a recommended venue.
