I love this place, been here a few times and always had good service, polite helpful staff, good quality and timely food. All for a very reasonable price. Please do go and try this!

The food here is really dismal. We tried a few pasta dishes and each was overcooked and almost inedible. On the sides of the plate of bolognese we ordered was cheese that had clearly come out of a tube. Haven’t tried the pizza but from the quality of the appetisers and pasta will never be going back.

Every now and then I have an egg florentine obssession — abd it came back! So came Saturday morning i was desperate for that. So headed to our local little italian place which does these, managed to get sit in the sun which us always a victory! As always, eggs florentine really arent that great. Always a little disspointed. By no means am i saying they are not good just not great. One bonus point though is that they use fresh spinach that they jst cook for a bit, i really like that. But the hollandaise sauce was a dissapointment, and thats basically what makes eggs florentine, right?!

We were craving Italian food and were excited to find this restaurant close to our flat while we vacationed in London. I wish I’d read the Unilocal reviews before we went there. Our server seemed to be very inexperienced and she was rather abrupt. Her first contact with us was«What do you want to order?» Uhhh… how about drinks? We ordered our drinks and then ordered the focaccia/ciabbata/olives for the table and our meals. The bread was run of the mill French bread… not even good French bread. We had to ask why there was no focaccia and were told they had run out. Okay, fine. Our salads and entrees came out together. Argh. Okay, fine. The salads, while consisting of fresh ingredients, had NO dressing on them and were overflowing on salad plates. We had to ask for dressing and received a bottle of olive oil and a bottle of vinegar from another server. They were nothing special and not worth the money. My entrée was the Pasta Norma. It was VERY al dente… as in it needed another couple of minutes cooking time. The sauce was nothing special and the few bits of eggplant were just okay. My husband’s pizza was decent enough. My daughter’s pasta, the bolognese, had meat in it so I didn’t try it. She only took a couple bites. She won’t complain so I had to just assume she didn’t like it but can’t say for sure. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone. We spent about 70 pounds on a mediocre experience. We could have spent about half of that at any number of places around Pimlico and would have gotten better service and better food.

Mixed sums it up. The Good: the calzone was good and the food arrived quickly The bad: the pasta was undercooked,(not sure how fresh can be hard, hmm). The replacement dish had plastic in it! Service poor while there was an apology from the waiter when they took the 1st pasta back. There was no further mention and they didn’t care about the plastic. They still expected us to pay the service charge!

Terrible. The food was not seasoned properly. I ordered a chicken milanesa with arugula salad. The chicken lacked flavor(no salt or pepper), the salad was not dressed, and the arugula was wilted from sitting under the heat lamp too long. The service was awful. I had to ask six times for a glass of water. The prices were outrageous. I would never recommend anyone eating here.

From the outside UNo resembled a respectable and authentic Italian restaurant but ended up being a fast and furious tourist hot spot of over priced food. The service was fast and prompt, but constantly tried to up sell you as our wines weres served by the largest glass as the size wasn’t confirmed by wait staff which added a larger dent in the bill than we thought. The pasta was cooked al dente — the traditional Italian way, but was an unforgettable experience. I think my un Italian mum could cook something better. We also order the Pomodoro e Cipolla salad of classic Italian tomato and red onion, which ended up being a minute serve of a cut up tomato on a place with a garnish of red onion on top. Although a side, it was hardly worth its price tag. The bearing pop music of lady gaga and other hits should of warned us, this was not the place for us, but we were fooled by its seemingly respectable exterior and professional looking staff.

I had the day off from work but with an injured ankle, couldn’t travel too far from my neighborhood for anything. So, after an appointment at the local GP, I walked into Uno for a plate of pasta for lunch. I ordered the linguini with seafood and spicy tomato sauce, and it was amazing. It had healthy proportions of seafood and the pasta was cooked just right. Granted, the price was a little steeper than I’d expect of a neighborhood restaurant(my pasta was about 15.50 pounds), but otherwise, both the food and the ambience were great. I think I’d bring my family members when they visit and when we’re looking for a close by place to eat.

Crazy overpriced, for the quality, even for a spendy New Yorker. the $ 25 personal pizza, just makes you want to laugh.

We were in London on a Sunday night and craving something different than a pub. We stumbled on this place while walking, there was a good size crowd. We do not eat meat, so Italian is a good choice for us. They had a great wine list. I had pizza which was good and my husband had a mushroom gnocchi that was really good. We also had dessert… chocolate fondue pudding=amazing

Honestly the breakfast here is some of the best in the neighbourhood. Get their English breakfast, meaty or vegetarian. They are both good. They have the finesse and polish you would expect from a continental European(like French or Italian) bistro. It’s not too greasy, the presentation is excellent, and it’s just tasty.

A friend met me in my neighborhood a few days after my flat burned down to help break up all the cleaning. It was sunny so we wanted to sit on the patio. We were seated at 12:45 and then proceeded to wait until around 1:10 pm before anyone got around to seeing us. We ordered– me a margherita pizza, her the chicken pesto pasta. When we declined wine with our lunch, the server(who I suspect is also the manager) insinuated that we were cheap. It’s not so much the price that deterred us from wine– it was that it was 1:10 in the afternoon on a Monday. I’d love to sit outside all day and drink wine but we had other things to do. You know, burnt flat and all. The server brought around a pitcher of water and set it on the table and left. When my friend started to pour the glasses, the server came back shouting«That’s my job!» «Oh sorry,» she replied. «My friends flat has burned down and she’s quite thirsty.» The server rambled on about how he was suppose to pour the water. «I don’t think he heard you» I said. «Oh yes, I did.» He commented. «You said you were thirsty and wanted some water but you are going to work me out of a job!» We thought that he was making a joke, but it seemed quite narcissistic that he didn’t absorb the information she had told him. Another 20 minute wait(it was now 1:30) and our food arrived. The pizza looked standard. The pasta looked awful. We could have had the same meal from the tesco take out aisle. There were 3 tiny chunks of chicken(not even ¼ of a chicken breast!) hidden under a massive pile of poorly executed spiral pasta. It would have been one thing if the pasta looked nice or if the dish had been nicely presented, but this was laughable. «Do you want to complain?» I asked. «Not really, but I can’t eat this either.» my friend said. In the end we decided to say something. The server began to argue with us that because my friend ordered off the lunch menu, the price was cheaper and therefore they had to think about the cost of the ingredient. She began to explain that it’s not what she thought she was ordering and he talked over her saying that if we wanted better food we shouldn’t have ordered off the lunch menu, we should have been prepared to spend 14 pounds for a meal but as we didn’t, we were getting exactly what we were paying for. Once again, calling us cheap. As we weren’t going to find a solution with this man, we left and went to Pimlico Fresh. Sat outside on the patio and had an AMAZING looking and tasting meal for the same price without waiting forever or being treated poorly. We told the guys at Pimlico Fresh what had happened and their response was something along the lines of «Sorry that happened to you, but seriously? You went to Uno.»

My quest to review all the pizza joints in Victoria and Pimlico brought me here today, and a rather underwhelming experience it was too. I opted for a margerita, something I think pizza-touting Italian restaurants stand or fall by. Unfortunately it was the latter in Uno’s case. First, it arrived 10 minutes later than promised despite my making clear that I was in a hurry. Then, despite being cooked in a wood-fired stove it fell down on each of its three ingredients. The base was tasteless fluff, the tomato passata equally unexciting and the mozzarella disappointingly chewy. I won’t be returning for pizza.

We were pleasantly surprised by how good this was. A nightly special scallop appetizer and side salad were excellent. Pizza was large and also very good. Nice wine list. They seemed a little unhappy that we were sharing one pizza, but service was generally good. Not a budget option, but still affordable.

Salad good, but pizza, not so much! Would have been happy to tell the restaurant directly instead of writing this review but no-one bothered to ask. Had the capricciosa pizza and it came with a layer of rubbery unmelted cheese on top. Not appetizing at all — didn’t seem hot and bubbly the way a topping should be. The odd thing was, there seemed to be another customer complaining about exactly the same thing to an employee who at least looked like he cared. Ingredients seemed fresh and lots of flavour but just didn’t get the execution of this pizza right! Husband’s pizza was nice(prosciutto and rocket). Sorry Uno!

Fantastic restaurant. Highly recomended. I am very disappointed with the last review. I was sitting next to a group of people who have bought a pre theatre deal and all looked very satisfied with the choices of dishes and quality of the food. Squid fried calamari is a very popular dish in every restaurant, chicken filled with cous cous is just a great idea to serve it in a different way. Yes bruschetta is toasted bread with olives and tomato that’s what bruschetta is. UNo is a vey nice restaurant with a delicious menu and I would recommended to anybody.

Over priced for what it is. You’d be better off going to Strada.

Took my folks here when they came up to visit as it’s within striking distance of the station. Worried this might mean it would be a bit of a tourist trap, but we were very pleasantly surprised. The pizzas were enormous — very thin and crispy and delicious. Only small complaint was that though it was friendly, service was inexplicably slow(the place wasn’t very busy) — normally I like that as I hate being rushed through, but it meant they missed getting a pud out of us as we had to race for a train. I’ll be back.

Very poor choice on menu. Booked meal with theatre ticket. Good idea but half our party didn’t like the options on the menu. Choice of squid, chicken filled with couscous or pasta with tomato sauce. Starters were equally as bad. settled for cold toast with olives and tomato bits.
