I used to be regular customer in this restaurant and recommend it but after last night adventure I am not coming back. Because of waitress mistake me and my friend has been pursued on a street demanding extra £5 on our bill. There were no excuses straight away it was presumed that we run away avoiding to pay our bill in full and one of the restaurant staff even tried to take £5 of my friends change in a shop where he just bought something. It is a first time I have experienced such treatment in restaurant and especially in one which doesn’t look like has the waist number of customers.

Cinar, pronounced with a ‘ch’, is a new Turkish restuarant at the less fashionable end of Walthamstow High Street. The bill themselves as a barbeque restaurant and Meze bar. They’ve really tried hard here — a good sized space that’s open with plenty of light. It’s notably more upmarket than a kebab joint. An impressive open grill that faces the main restaurant enables you to see your food as it’s being grilled. The food is a success that shows off the light but fresh style of Turkish food. It’s good value too. Friendly staff complete the picture. Definitely worth a try.

Eating at Cinar(pronounced«chinar») was the biggest culinary surprise I’ve had in at least a couple of years. Why? Because it was here that I had a food moment – one of those moments when you put something in your mouth and it tastes so good you want to slap your mother. For those with period spiritual connections to food, you know what I mean. Goooood. While the starters were alright, it’s the BBQ that shines. I had the lamb ribs and my partner had the chicken shish. Both were amazingly tastey. We’ve been thinking about eating here for a really long time, and now I’m glad we did. It’s our new favourite place. Oh, and it’s quite inexpensive too! We had starters, two mains and a bottle of house red(not bad for house wine I must add) for £35. Apparently that have a back terrace too. Okay, I’m stopping now because my mouth is watering just thinking about eating here again.
