Where to begin… My wife and I went into this restaurant because it happened to be close to our hotel and we were looking for something filling but reasonably priced. It’s sometimes concerning only seeing a few reviews for a restaurant. I typically don’t write reviews but the meal we just had is well worth the time to do so. The restaurant is small and staffed appropriately. My water glass never went empty and the waiters were very helpful. The waiters brought out complimentary olives, bread, and balsamic vinegar and oil to start the meal off. We ordered the calamari appetizer and it was excellent. We ordered the Angelo wine which ended up being a perfect pairing for our meal. I ordered the lasagna and my wife ordered a pasta dish with sausage. We ordered broccoli, and the vegetable of the day to share as a side. My wife and I had a table and could see into the kitchen as the chef cooked our meal. The lasagna was absolutely amazing. My wife could not say enough positive things about her pasta. She said the potatoes were the best potatoes she had ever tasted. The meal was perfect. Somehow we finished all the food and decided we could not pass on dessert. We shared the custard with caramel on top(similar to flan). It was great and tasted fresh! Unfortunately we are just visiting London, or else we would be coming back for more amazing Italian! Props to the chef of this restaurant. Excellent quality!

My boss took me to lunch here. It’s pretty average. The place was packed with elderly Italians who all seem to be long term clients here for lunch. I ordered the lasagne which came very very hot and it had the pretty green pasta inside which was nice. The taste was very tomato-y and nice. Portions were HUGE! However, nothing else stands out much. The price is pretty expensive for the food, I think it was over £10 per person.

Thursday evening munchies! This place was a little quiet but we were near Barbican tube and whipped out the phones to do a Unilocal search of what was good nearby. Vecchio Parioli came up so off we went. It wasn’t busy when we arrived although was starting to get a few tables full by the time we left. We were seated quickly and served olives and bread whilst we waited. They have a very traditional Italian menu which is great. The olives were nice but the bread less so. We both enjoyed a leak and potato soup to start with which came piping hot. It was nice but could have done with a touch more salt(easily remedied though). I opted for a venison main which was deliciously served with a mushroom sauce. My other half enjoyed a decent sized serving of cannoloni(which was a started portion). Desert was enjoyed afterwards. Eased up on the wine for a change(!) and just had a glass or two of a nice Sardinian red. All reasaonably priced and enjoyable.

Food was pretty decent. Wine list more than adequate. Service was a problem. Two in attentive wait persons took order for dessert and claimed to «not have understood » …guess our American English accent did not compute. If the staff would have been attentive I would have added a star here. Good luck.

A group of 13 of us enjoyed an evening at Vecchio Parioli last night. Staff were friendly and attentive, no loud background music, the tables were well spaced so you don’t feel crowded in, great selection on the menu and very tasty too. We were there from about 7pm till midnight and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

NOT the standard British version of an Italian restaurant… this place is proper traditional Italian! Some British owned Italian chains(of which this is not one) the menus consist entirely of whatever is cheapest & most profitable to make. Pasta & Pizza only. Boring. If you like crap chain places like bella pasta or other fo-talian mockeries of real food… then I humbly invite you to take a evening to UPGRADEYOURIDEAOFITALIANFOOD and eat at this place. In the really traditional Italian way, pasta is «a part of» a meal… and the is followed by more courses of whatever delicious stuff you order. This place gets it right. It’s classy but not stuffy… it’s comfy but not smashed in too tight… it’s a family run feel, but stylish enough to take a date. The pace here is not rushed…(unless you tell them you need to get out quickly to see a show) …they will assume you have the evening to enjoy, and keep bringing you all the courses of your meal in a relaxed pace that makes this place ideal for dates. Especially if you want to speak to your date that is. It’s not over the top romantic or anything… it’s just nice and great tasting… and gives you time to connect with your guest. I wouldn’t say it’s an over-the-top flashy first date kinda place… perhaps it’s just a bit too informal for that. But I like it!

A sweet, ordinary local Italian restaurant– fairly good value, but right on the main street.

What I love best about this restaurant is it serves trattoria style food, all the staples, plus more high end restaurant style food as well, always well-presented. In terms of atmosphere, it’s highly pleasant, with friendly, competent Italian staff. I’ve been here several times and never been disappointed. The owner is always willing to spend some time chatting, or if you prefer, to leave you alone. After dinner drinks are nice, and there’s a display of modern art on the walls. And the desserts(tiramisu!) are beautiful. A great Italian restaurant to visit for a special event(I’ve been there on Valentine’s Day and New Year’s Eve), or just to drop in for an impromptu lunch or dinner.

One of my favourite foods is Italian so when i spotted this glorious restaurant my boyfriend couldn’t hold me back. From the outside it is warm and welcoming and is lit up beautifully and inside it feels like you are in the heart of Italy. The staff couldn’t of been more friendly and as soon as i enterend they were attentive and sat us down immediately. The food was amazing and i loved the fact they adapted to my boyfriends needs as he is very fussy. I recommended this place to any couple that want a romantic evening just to themselves as this place really is passionate about its food and customers. It is situated right in the centre of barbican and its two minuites away from the tube so you can get into Leicester square for a couple of cocktails just to finish of your spendid evening!
