Pros: 1) It’s open late! 2) I went there for a late night dessert run, and I enjoyed it a lot. 3) Very close to Tottenham Court Road station. 4) The décor and ambiance is good for a place that is open 24 hours a day. Cons: 1) There were a few unsavory sorts who came in after what I assume was a night of drinking. They didn’t bother me, but I can see how it could get a bit rowdy after a night out. Summary: I seriously cannot complain about it since everything in the neighborhood closes so early!

My friends and I absolutely love VQ. Firstly, we’re from NYC, so we were under the assumption that there are always things to do 24⁄7. The culture shock was real when we got to London(we did study abroad here). When we found out there was a 24 hour café located nearby, it didn’t matter if the café was dingy and old or modern and classy — we would have probably gone based on their hours alone. The plus is that VQ is by no means dingy or old. It serves decent food, good drinks, and the service has always been great. It’s a reliable place to go when you’re, A.) drunk and have the munchies, B.) don’t wanna go home, C.) need a place to get work done, or D.) just want to relax and chat with your friends(or honestly, all of the above, as was usually my case). I ended my nights here so often, I’m pretty sure the staff were surprised when my friends and I didn’t show up. I will definitely be back the moment I step foot in London again.

Hey — it’s one of the few places that you can work late/all night long in Central London, so automatically it’s going to get a few stars for that. The staff is decently friendly, and if you are there getting work done, do not really pester you with checking in or trying to get you to leave quickly. One strange thing with the drinks — they offer a soy matcha latte but you cannot have it cold, but they were nice about that even if it doesn’t really make a lot of sense. The food is a little bit pricey for what it is, diner food, but it’s pretty good and since the restaurant has to make up for 24⁄7 hours it is generally excusable. The sweet potato fries are done like British-style chips, and weren’t the thin crispy fries I was hoping for, but were still good. I also had an iced tea that was excellent, a little on the sweet side. It’s probably not somewhere I would recommend unless you had nowhere else to go, such as at 2 am, though with that said, there are a good number of drunk people coming in and out, even though during the week their liquor license ends at midnight.

After half hour placed order, our food still not come. Checked with the waiter, we were told that the computer system had a problem and our order did not go to the kitchen and we had to wait more time. The salad came with the color changed vegetables When we asked, the manager said that the vegetables came this morning. I do not recommend this restaurant.

Decent for late night. l because it’s 24 hrs but food is garbage, drinks are watery. Nice last resort at best. Caveat Emptor.

Brits are way too hard on this place. It’s centrally located, open 24-hours, and the food is schnazzy for a diner. Add the free wifi and its a sure-shot for a quick lunch, travelers break, or easy meal. Service was a bit slow, but if you flag them down, you’re fine. To ease you’re waiting, order the crisps with blue cheese dip. You’re welcome.

Hmmm… I work quite close so been in a bit and its an odd sort of place. Atmosphere… Canteen. But its 24 hour with a alcohol license. Staff… Sometimes… Often I think the staff forget you are there. I think this complacency is encouraged by 12.5% service charge automatically added to the bill. No need to try if they already pay you! Food… Its really actually slightly above par. A a weird selection. I’ve had one of the salads a soup and fries. They all came fresh from kitchen and tasted like gastropub food. Well made with love but not high end by any degree. Its a bit of a mix. I’d say expensive but pleasant lunch. Not dinner place. Come with patience.

A friend and I were lucky enough to snag the last booth in the place and settled down with a cocktail to peruse the menu. It took us a while to order but eventually I settled on the kedgeree. Now I’ve never had kedgeree before but any time I’ve seen pictures it looked delicious; a spicy rice dish with smoked haddock and a lovely runny poached egg, what’s not to like. When it arrived though it wasn’t quite what I expected. It was very thick and yellow and a lot creamier than I was anticipating. Pictures I’ve seen before have always looked like it was quite a dry dish but this was very smooth and about half way through the dish I did start to feel a little sick. It was one of those times I really wish they had pictures of each dish on the menu as I would have ordered something else had I known. It wasn’t all bad though as it meant there was still room for dessert and what a dessert it was! The VQ knickerbocker glory: Vanilla and chocolate ice-cream, honeycomb, smarties and chocolate sauce, this badboy was a chocolate lovers dream, even the waiter was jealous of us and more than made up for the disappointing main. Prices at VQ are incredibly reasonable with a 2-course meal plus two drinks per person coming to just £29 each! We were there for a couple of hours and didn’t feel rushed at all which is always nice. It’s a great little location to keep in mind for those 3am munchies or hungover early mornings.

Came here because it was the only thing open. there is a cover charge to get in which is just crazy considering its not a club. Also, the food is extremely overpriced(8 pounds and above) for extremely mediocre food. I got the pasta with spinach and my friend got an omelette. both decent but neither great, unless your intoxicated and there’s nothing else open. don’t bother

The redeeming quality of VQ is that it’s open 24 hours and it’s a reasonably clean, pleasant environment(like, in comparison to a 24 hour fried kebab shop). The food is cruelly overpriced but I guess that comes with footing the bill to operate 24⁄7. The service is hit or miss. At its best it’s decent and at its worst it is horrifying. It once took me an hour — ONEHOUR — to get my bill after I had finished eating and my food had been taken away. I asked multiple times. They have wifi but it’s not too reliable, especially if the place is busy. I would go if you are hungry and just really need to hit the spot but I would never seek this place out or recommend it to somebody visiting London. You can do so much better.

Wow, a decent place that opens 24⁄7 in Central London, where you can just go in for a cuppa. Between 8am and 6pm you can have a free refill of your tea or coffee. The set menu from midday to midnight looks good value, like £11.95 for two course and £14.95 for three. And there is an afternoon tea for £4.50. If you sign up for their newsletter, you get a free dessert. They also have a bar and is fully licensed all day until 2am, and they have free wifi. The service is friendly and helpful. They greet everyone with a great welcome and smile. I won a two course meal, so hopefully the portion size is the same as if I am a paid customer, as it is quite generous. All tastes good and fresh, and nicely presented. Although the grilled salmon I had was slightly overdone for my liking, but others may find it just fine. It is served with some delicious and perfectly sauteed new potatoes and a very generous portion of lovely spinach. Often vegetables are a small side dish, so very impressed with this. My other half, chose the lamb served with vegetable couscous, harissa and tzatziki and it was very good. The lamb is very tasty and tender. However, the desserts are worthy of a recommendation. I love apple pie and crumble and it was piping hot and especially the custard as often this can be either lukewarm or cold. The apple is a bit sour for my liking but again, some people may like this. My other half had the warm chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce. Another good choice! Although I wanted the same choice of menu, I ordered differently so I could try something else as well, rather than both having the same dishes But it is one place where I will definitely go back! Nice atmosphere and ambience, decent food and hopefully good value, we need to go back and test that last bit!

Came here for dinner after an exhausting day of walking 11 miles to see the sites in London. It wasn’t my first choice for dinner but it was near our hotel and my friend and I were starving. I ordered the pumpkin soup with truffle oil and fish and chips. The soup didn’t really taste like pumpkin, but the truffle flavor was prominent. It was good but not what I expected. The fish and chips were okay, I’ve had better. Not the authentic fish and chips I was hoping to get. A bit disappointed, but it was close, quick, affordable and easy.

Close to the Dominion Theater where Hillsong holds services on Sundays. The food is fairly priced and quite delicious. I’ve never had poached eggs with hollandaise, and what better place to try it than in England? Two beautifully poached eggs atop a bed of hash browns with veg inside and topped with a heavenly rich hollandaise. It was very tasty! To drink and for dessert a wonderfully blended berry smoothie that was just the right amount of sweet and tart. The VQ is a great little place to go to.
