Cool branding and interior design but food are all just ‘meh’ here. Difficult for kids, no stroller-friendly access. Staff are very friendly and accommodating though. Interesting all-communal tables that Londoners seem to be very accustomed to.

First up, this location isn’t here anymore and ‘right around the corner’ means great Marlborough street which isn’t right around the corner. Been a long long time since we’d eaten here, concept changed slightly since it’s now seated service. Food reminds me of what I’d eaten years back but simply didn’t wow me at all. At nearly 100 pounds for 3 people without alcohol, I won’t be back.

Had the pleasure of stopping by in 2009. Eating here was so much fun, not to mention delicious! Love all of the noodle dish selections, the dish ware, the atmosphere… everything about it was an experience. Stop by if you’re in London… Hope they venture over to the United States.

I came here on Friday night for a pre-show dinner with my brother. It has the same feel and look as all the wagamama’s I’ve been to in London(ones in Australia have wonderful outdoor dining, and ramen in the sun is devine). We were seated by a super friendly waitress, and our drinks orders were taken. After a few minutes we’d chose a ramen each, and within that time our drinks were with us. I had the chicken ramen, and my brother had the Wagamama ramen. Each looked delicious, and later I wished I’d had the pork ramen, i was eyeing the pieces off in my bro’s dinner, hehe, All in all a quick, delicious, reasonably priced pre-show meal.

Wagamama in the basement again must save them a fortune on rent. Still nice and light so not gloomy or depressing. Downside this venue has no disabled access if you need it. All the rest the same as every other one in the chain except a few more tattoos and nose piercings but it is soho!

A very friendly place to go for an easy, but delicious meal. The place itself is very simple with huge tables to share with anybody else. However it is comfortable and quite different from usual restaurants. The waiters are very nice and kind. The food comes pretty quickly and the prices are totally worth it!

Wagamama is always a winner. It’s basically my go to place for a quick bite to eat. Prices are reasonable and portions are large. I appreciate the free green tea, too. My favourite dish is chicken katsu curry(an absolute must), but the ginger chicken udon is pretty amazing too.

Seriously, this is NOT the best Japanese fusion I’ve tried. Had dinner there while in London and lets just say I’ll probably never eat at another Wagamama again. Service was great. Its just that the food was not that great. BTW, Wagamama means spoiled little girl in Japanese.

The fast food Korean in a clinical white light and plastic atmosphere. It was fun and clean and had an interesting look. The waiter was lightening fast and happy to make recommendations. We ate a lot and did not pay much. Quality was at least average, more above average, and if I was in London or near any other place that has this chain, it would be high on my list

For me for sure not the best wagamama in London. I had to wait a long time before I was asked for my order, behause the waiter talked to other persons — while there were not much guests. The menu I ordered was ok but no more — the pea leaves were not fresh and I missed the teriyakee with my teriyakee chicken. Next time I visit another wagamama — the one near Leicesters Square is much better…

It’s ok for cheap bland food, would not recommend this to friends as there are lots of places who does better japanese food then this They do a fusion of chinese japanese, and sometimes service can be a bit slow.

I’ll give them credit that this is a different experience eating out than I’m use to. Large picnic bench style tables. The server will write down what you order onto your placemat. The only issue is that the asian food served here isn’t that great… unless you’re drunk(which seems to be a good number of the clientele late in the evening).

I bloody love Wagamama. Any of the branches, but this is my regular. Arrive early for lunch else you’ll be queuing up the stairs, out the door and down the road. For our American friends, you have to understand the deal with this restaurant chain before you go: long tables shared with strangers, food arrives when it’s ready regardless of whether or not your lunch partner’s food is ready. That’s just how it is. This is Japanese food for European taste buds and American appetites(according to propaganda ;) so if you’re after more authentic Japanese food you should carry on down the road to Brewer Street where there are several really cheap café style Japanese restaurants with good selections of grilled meat and fish, sushi and sashimi. The only negative point I have(although I have not deducted a star) is that Wagamama is definitely better as a lunch venue or a quick dinner fix, not for lengthy, chilled meal or with a big group.

Everyone loves Wagamama, I get it, I get it. The food I had was good. Not stunningly amazing(except the rice — cooked to perfection) and sometimes the taste was too strong on the curry, spicy or salty side. However, the portions are fairly large, but point being, not large enough to cut in half and bring home. So I either stuffed myself or just stared at the last remaining pieces on my plate. I had Katsu curry once, and chilli ramen the second time. The problem with any form of fusion food is that people tend to stick some strange herb or weird combination that ends up leaving a bitter taste. While Wagamama doesn’t do that, necessarily, there was an unpleasant aftertaste when I ate the chilli ramen. But let’s get down to the facts — it’s a bit pricey and the quality is not as up to par as I’m willing to go for something like ramen and nothing really special chicken. The concept is good, wonderful for quick come and go, but if only the food was actually come and go type of eating. It takes quite a while to come, so don’t be planning fast food Asian service. Unfortunately, I’ve had great, similar food for a much lesser price so I’m not one to dish out the four stars.

Wagamama is one of our favorite restaurants to go to whenever we visit London. On our recent trip we went to the branch on Lexington St. and had yet another great meal. I loved their freshly steamed Edamame with chili and garlic salt, as well as the grilled chicken yakitori which is served with a scrumptious teriyaki sauce. I’m also a huge fan of Wagamama’s seared and steamed dumplings. My husband always gets the No. 40 which is essentially Pad Thai which he always enjoys. Service at Wagamama is unfailingly friendly and fast and the staffers seem to be enjoying themselves which makes for a fun experience. I love this place and only wish that there were Wagamamas where I live!

I love Wagamama. And I tend to head to any I see instead of trying new thing. That’s because I love their food — simples. Their chicken katsu curry is the best I’ve had(so far) and they service has always been friendly and quick. I hope they get proper chairs someday so I can mellow out after a good meal.

On one of my first nights in London, I met some friends here and was pleasantly surprised to find food that reminded me of home and warmed my heart. The place was buzzing with people all around and it’s such a modern-looking place. For some reason I even liked the shirts the waiters wore. Like a tourist fool, I ended up buying one later on during my stay. After a friend told me that Wagamama meant greedy in Japanese, I’ve since stopped wearing the shirt except inside the walls of my home. The food was good from what I remember. I had yaki soba which tasted fine. The duck gyoza was really good. Glad we found this place. Sure beats my friend’s «authentic» London sandwich she had earlier — a chutney and cheese. Yuck.

Klasse Idee, super Restaurant, toller Service. Sehr gesund! Hinsetzen an langen Tischen, einfach dazu, sehr kommunikativ.

Looking at Wagamama’s canteen style oriental dining experience and its myriad spinoffs, it’s almost hard now to remember a UK dining scene without them. For that, Alan Yau deserves credit to have the vision and courage to see if British diners had the stomach(literally!) for sharing tables and a limited menu that was easy to reproduce in the kitchen. You’re always assured of a quick meal in Wagamama but the meal can feel hurried as the business model obviously depends on turning tables. Coming from the Far East where we’re used to sharing tables in the coffee shops and hwaker stalls, I don’t mind sharing tables though it can be hard to get in and out of the tables sometimes if the tables are quite full. Looking in the open kitchen, the chefs seem to conform to a minimum but not stratospheric standard and the dishes that come out of the kitchen reflect this. One other problem with Wagamama is that dishes may not arrive together. Interesting and successful concept but I rarely find myself dining here these days.
