Wasabi

As far as fast mass produced Japanese food goes this has to be some of the best. The meal pots are great for eating on the go and are defiantly enough to fill your for most of the day. Full of flavour

I’m visiting London from the US and love the concept of individually wrapped and boxes of sushi and related food items, perfect for self-​serve/​grab-​to-​go. On top of that, the prices are really cheap for the quality and freshness of the food. However, you still get what you pay for.
The chicken katsu, for example, was a lot of rice and a Japanese curry that was slightly bland and didn’t have that many veggies in it — it was really most gravy (a few onions and cubes of carrots, mostly). The accompanying chicken katsu was fried well, but again a bit bland. It would help a lot if Wasabi provided sauces, such as sriracha, or maybe I missed it because this particular venue was very tiny, had limited seating, and extremely crowded during this time of day. The custard pancake was also overly sweet and not buttery/​creamy like I’d hoped.
If you’re hungry and want a really quick and satisfying meal though that is light on the wallet, I think Wasabi really hits the spot.

Great for a quick tasty lunch. Soupmen is cheap and warming for a cold day like today!

J’adore le concept ! Bar à sushi et autres mets japonais. Entrées, plats, soupes et desserts en self service et tout est frais. On peut aussi prendre des plats chauds au comptoir. Beaucoup de choix ! Par contre très peu de places assises et c’est bien dommage.

The look is great. The presentation is great, friendly and smiley, keen staff. Nice packaging and range. Clean, bright, busy. The whole concept looks good. What let it down was the food however which should be the most important point.
Chicken katsu yakisoba bento. Sounds great and even looked nice in the round box but disappointing. Here’s why:
— Small portion in large box with raised bottom so looks bigger than it is.
— Made with that kind of cheap chicken that has a sponge like texture and no taste.
— Yakisoba noodles consisting of a few noodles, a few shreds of white cabbage and a few bits of spongy chicken. Just mean and cheap.
— Overall deeply disappointing. Could be so much better.
It was cheap, yes, but NOT good value.

Siempre que voy a Londres acabo comiendo en este sitio tarde o temprano. Cuando vivía allí era uno de mis lugares fetiche (semi estudiante poco presupuesto y más barato y sano que un McDonalds)
El plato estrella en mi opinión es el «pozal». ¿A que me refiero con esto? A un cubo de proporciones considerables que puede ser llenado con fideos, arroz y sus distintos acompañamientos.
También tienen bandejas rpeparadas de sushi, si sois unos exquisitos de este plato japonés no os la recomiendo, pero si no tenéis remilgos, está genial.
Lugar muy limpio agradable aunque siempre suele estar hasta arriba de gente.

Japanese food is my fav’ so trying this fast food was the plan. There are always a lot of people in this shop which means it’s good (at least that’s what I thought.) sushis are good (not the best tho) and Fresh. Actually All the food is Fresh but no really tasty. The bubble tea wasn’t that good too. Not disgusting but i tasted Better !

The individually wrapped sushi pieces were frankly a bit off-​putting.

Excelente lugar para comer sushi al paso!!! Es mas barato que comer una hamburguesa!!! Los fideos son de otro mundo y las bebidas que venden en el local son baratas! El lugar muy moderno y limpio! Lo recomiendo mucho

Love Wasabi, everything looked yummy and not too expensive, it’s fast and it was good. I recommend the ramen soups which they reheat for you but the sushis are tasty as well.

I wish we had WASABI in Belgium!
Love the concept: sushi fast food, you grab, u pay and u leave or eat in.
Individual packaged sushi is very handy too.
Plus, the sushis are, according only to me, very tasty and super fresh quality!
This is our favourite fast food in the world!
Okey, there is a «but“too…
The soups, the noodles and the other stuff behind the bar is defenitely not worth it.
So I only recommend the sushis, especially if you want something fresh.
The gyozas were tasteless… Sorry :-(
We´re always ending up in a WASABI when we’re in London!

Very good price for «quick» but not too «fast foodis» meals. Good staff and enough chicken/​fish (actually much more than any other place at the city — most places will ask for more money and will bring you bunch of rice and little chicken/​fish).
Good for Paleo /​Ketogenic lifestyle/​diet people — plenty of meat/​fish for fair price.
Sushi is alright but the rice/​chicken/​noodles/​fish main dishes will give you a better solution for launch.

I really enjoyed this place. It’s fresh, fairly cheap seafood that’s well packaged and contains fair portions.
I think my favorite is the seafood trio, with 3 types of seaweed salad (2.15 pounds I think). I also really like the edamame, which is only 1.15 pounds and comes in a large can. The salmon sashimi is fresh and quite tasty as well for fast food Japanese food.
My friend really likes the packaged cones, which I’ll have to try one of these days, and I also want to try the bento box which contain sashimi, little pieces of sushi, tempura and salad.
Overall, food is pretty good but they definitely need more seating inside!

We needed something quick to eat and inexpensive.
I ordered katsu curry with breaded chicken in a bowl, the portion size was great, rice at bottom curry on top. The breaded chicken was the best part of the meal in the tub, the curry needed a kick. My mum enjoyed her spicy noodles though.
The meal cost £6.
We sat down to eat unfortunately, the table’s needed a clean down, the floor needed a sweep it was just gross! I just felt the table and chairs were positioned awkwardly.
This place just does not excite me at all.

Ya había estado en otro viaje a Londres. Es el sitio donde más veces he comido. Es una franquicia que depende del establecimiento tiene una variedad u otra de comida. Me explico: en algunos hay sushi o bandejas preparadas, en otro tienen también noodles o arroz con platos calientes y también hay puestos pequeños en estaciones para comprar algo para llevar. He estado en varios y voy a poner mi puntuación en este por ser el que tiene la menor media.
Es un restaurante de comida Japonesa, tienen platos calientes como pollo en salsa teriyaki, tofu con curry. También tienen ensaladas de algas y variadas. Tienen bandejas preparadas tipo bento. Y tienen una buena variedad de sushi.
Según entras ves el sushi y platos preparados en las neveras. Sólo tienes que coger una bandeja e ir sirviéndote. También hay una barra con los platos calientes. Recomiendo el tofu con curry en arroz. Cuando eliges vas a la caja y te cobran. Puedes pedirlo para llevar o para comer ahí si tienes suerte de encontrar hueco.
El precio es muy bueno, sabiendo que Londres no es barato. Y la calidad es bastante buena para ser un sitio de comida rápida. Una bandeja de sushi para una persona que coma mucho puede estar en 8 ó 9£. Tienen mucha variedad para vegetarianos y para veganos.
Siempre que vuelva a Londres iré a comer algo ahí.

Can someone please explain to me why there is consistently a line of folks nearly out the door to eat at Wasabi? I had a bit of an upset stomach and fought through the line at Wasabi to pick up a bit of veggie noodle soup today. As I waited for my soup broth to be heated in the microwave, I watched as the rather unfriendly staff pulled tray after tray of noodles, fried prawns and fried chicken from a line up of 5+ different microwaves behind the serving area. Gross. Wasabi, can you at least hide the fact that your food isn’t fresh and is microwaved? Next time I want microwaved soup, I’ll head to Sainsburys, pick up 6 cans of noodle soup and head back to the office and use the micro at work (and likely still pay less than I did at Wasibi).

I love Wasabi. The sushi is authentic, but very reasonably priced, and packaged individually, as the owners want sushi to be accessable to a Western audience.
I love that they have so many tasty vegetarian options, my favourite being seaweed gunkan. It looks good and tastes delicious. I really love the yasai set box, which is excellent value for money and provides plenty of food for one person.
The hot food is also really tasty, I love the tofu yakisoba. The portion is very generous too. I’m a loyal Wasabi customer, and don’t see that changing at any time.

The big cartons of Japanese soup (yakisoba?) are incredibly tasty and filling. One of my favourite foods-​on-​the-​go.

Cheap and nice food ! Cookers was very nice and attentives, I think is a good place to eat good and quickly. Must try !

Just popped in to get a few Sushi snacks to eat along the way. Had 2 salmon & rice ones and 2 eel ones, the eel ones tasted great. Must be made specially for Londoners, now if only they could do pie, mash & liquer sushi, it would be wonderful. Though can you get fish mash?

Definitely the best place for sushi on the run. It just seems so much more authentic than the stuff you get in Tesco! Not the same as a proper sushi restaurant with conveyer belts and stuff but really good for a snack.

Hab zwar nicht das Suhsi probiert, aber die Asia-​Gerichte sind auch der Hammer!
Hatte ein Chicken-​Curry, das wirklich mehr als hervorragend war. Und zudem eine riesige Portion!
Zum Preis: Bei dem aktuellen Pfund-​Kurs ein Schnäppchen — umgerechnet weniger als 5 Euro für ein phatastisches Curry!

Great value fast, healthy food.
I was really overjoyed when I first discovered Wasabi (the chain, not the super hot paste!) as I was wandering around with £5 to my name, really hungry, and daydreaming about Sushi!
I stumbled across the Oxford circus branch by chance, and couldn’t believe my luck!
This clean and smart takeaway, (with a few seats outside) keeps the prices low by apparently using Sushi Robots imported from Japan. The Sushi, Sashimi, Edamame and salads etc are all self service, and the Sushi rolls etc are wrapped and labelled as 2 for £1.50 etc, with different ranges costing a little more or less.
the pieces are individually wrapped, which though hygienic, is a bit wasteful of plastic, and I’d be happy to see some sort of recycled plastic, or even paper.
it’s great value, and very tasty!

Dieses Sushi war das Beste, das ich je gegessen habe!
Man kann sich an der riesen Theke alles nur erdenkliche aussuchen was das Sushiherz begehrt!
Alle Teile waren einzeln verpackt, was dem hygienischen Aspekt sehr entsprach! Was jedoch sehr mühsam beim Auspacken war und leider einen riesigen Müllberg nicht nur auf dem Tablett hinterlässt!
Die Preise waren für Londoner Verhältnisse sehr moderat.
Zwei Teile zwischen 1 – 2 Pfund je nach Sorte und Größe.
Wer kein Sushi mag, kann noch zwischen Suppe und gebratenen Nudeln mit Hühnchen und Gemüse usw.
wählen.
Es gibt auch gemischte Salate mit oder ohne rohen Fisch.
Auch zwischen verschiedenen Getränken kann man wählen.
Alles in allem sehr empfehlenswert!!!

I have to admit, I’m no sushi expert, but prior to sampling Wasabi’s fishy delights, I had only ever eaten supermarket or sandwich-​shop attempts and thought that was as good as it got.
How wrong I wasI’m quite fussy where fish is concerned (especially raw fish) but they have so much choice that you’re bound to find something you like. They also have loads of vegetarian options and even chicken sushi! My favourites are the tuna. Very fresh and naturally salty. The rice is cooked to perfection and the soy sauce is sublime (if you’ve had bad, cheap soy sauce to compare it to, you’ll know what I mean).
The price is about right for sushi, you will need to spend £5 — £6 to get a decent-​sized lunch. Soy sauce comes in sachets and is 5p extra (I think). You can also get extra chopped ginger, wasabi itself (a hot, horseradish-​type stuff) and wasabi peas in a little packet — which make a good snack.
The packaging is wasteful and can be annoying when you get back to your desk at work and have to spend 5 mins unwrapping it all. However, it’s worth the wait and at least you know the sushi is fresh and clean.
Wasabi also sells hot food (bento) — tasty looking chicken and curries and rice dishes. I’ve had these before and some are pretty good, but nothing particularly special.
N.B They have a few small metal tables and chairs for people wishing to eat there, but it gets quite crowded and I much prefer to take mine out.
P. S. I’ve been to other Wasabi outlets at the O2 Arena and near Liverpool street but for some reason the sushi doesn’t taste quite as good there. Strange but true.
