My three experiences at the West London Dermatology Centre are mixed.
Visit 1: Popped in on a random Saturday about 30 minutes before closing and asked for laser hair removal pricing. Receptionist was confused. Manager said that they were undergoing a price overall and that they are decreasing their prices as they have realized over the past year that they were overpriced. She said she would email me the price sheet on Wednesday when it was complete. FOUR stars.
Never received the price sheet, however, I had already booked my consultation and decided to go forward with it. ZERO stars.
Visit 2: Popped in for my test patch/​consultation (£25 fee, waived if you buy the 6-​treatment course). It was bring your child to work day as the receptionist’s screaming baby was in the waiting room. I suspect this was an emergency type situation. Waiting room couches are terribly uncomfortable. Filled out paperwork and met with consultant. Consultant was hard to read. I think she was trying to talk me out of the treatment but I am not sure. Due to the small area and the fact that there were just a few residual hairs that needed to be tended to, the consultant said that she would charge me a reduced price. I was fine with this but at the same time, I had no issues paying the full price and having the full area treated. Checked out at reception and consultant said the fee was £40 per treatment which was the full price. I left feeling that my first treatment was going to cost full price but that they would only treat the stubborn areas as notated on my consultation form. It’s also clear that the pricing and general office is unorganized. Information does not pass fluidly from technicians to reception and it just seems a bit chaotic. TWO stars.
Visit 3: Popped in for my first treatment feeling completely unprepared. I’ve had laser hair removal previously and the rule was always to shave the area prior to the treatment at home (or get charged a fee). I was given no instruction to shave or not to shave after visit 2 and I forgot to call and get clarification. I arrived unshaven and that was fine though this did mean that the treatment room smelled like burnt hair during the treatment. The technician was very nice, smiley, chatty, personable, and understanding. FIVE stars.
Given all the above, I’ve settled on an average THREE star rating.
