Cocktails were brilliant and inventive. For a bar that uses absolutely no fresh/​perishable ingredients they have a wide selection of flavours available. Is recommend for going towards the aromatic end of things, such as the Ribs, where the care and consideration really shine.
Friendly staff and a relaxed week night atmosphere lead to a great relaxed place to have a drink with friends or take a date for something different.
Highly recommended.

I love this unique bar. No waste, no ice and fabulous cocktails. The space is simple, black walls, but the cocktails are world famous! Try the shot of See No Evil with Gin. You won’t be disappointed.

Das Konzept ist außergewöhnlich und wunderbar. Der Barkeeper mischt seine Cocktails vorweg, gibt die Mixturen in Flaschen und lagert sie im Kühlschrank. So hat er vollen Einfluss auf den Geschmack und verzichtet auf Eis, Fruchtscheiben, Schirmchen und anderen Schnickschnack.
Alle Cocktails waren großartig und werden mit einer Geschichte oder Erklärung geliefert. Die Konzentration auf das Wesentliche und die Liebe zum Detail kann man schmecken und riechen. Es war ein wunderbarer Abend!

This place was recommended by someone I met in Brum who writes a cocktail blog/​Instagram account. I’m very glad I listened as I had the best cocktail I’ve ever had here — the Hedgerow. The flavours were incredible, and the explanation by the clearly very passionate about her job bar lady was great. It was followed by another excellent one — Purple Paint. Id never tried Aqvavit before, and this was apparently homemade and was delicious. Great place and highly recommended!

A friend of ours recommended that we come here on our visit to London and it did not disappoint!
The bar itself is tucked away on Hoxton street, but that was all apart of its charm! We came in on a Saturday night and the service was top notch! The entire staff was very nice and attentive.
Now the cocktails, well they were some of the most delicious and innovative I’ve ever tasted in my life! They use a different glass depending on cocktail and they are served at the perfect temperature. I recommend the seaside for tequila based and the ribs for a bourbon based cocktail.
I would recommend this to anyone staying in the shoreditch and hackney area of London and will be returning again on my next trip over the pond!

Yes, it’s tucked away so you have to go looking for it. And yes, the hours can be a little strange so when you want a cocktail, it may not be open. But if it is open and you’re ready for an adventure, go. Because, woah.
And I mean woah. These are some of the best made cocktails I have ever tried. Handcrafted, slowly made, and the bartenders are friendly guys who will take you through anything you want or give recommendations if you need it.
There isn’t a lot to the atmosphere, think dark wood everywhere, but the cocktails speak for themselves. And they speak loudly.

BEST COCKTAIL EXPERIENCE IN MY LIFE! After my great experience at Dandelyan, I could not resist to go to White Lyan during my long weekend in London. Amazing cocktails! The place is kind of hidden and far from the main nightlife venues, but I am willing to expend a whole night just in this bar. It was a honor and a pleasure to meet Mr. Lyan, and to give him (hopefully useful) feedback. I cannot wait to come back in future gateways to London!

LOVE IT. Made to measure cocktails made from the finest in house made ingredients. Staff are always in the know about each cocktail, its sources and making methods. White Lyan take booze seriously and it shows. I have yet to be disappointed with any drink I have sampled here (trust me I have had a few!) Don’t just take my word for it. Get yourself down to Hackney to try a few for your self — only make it a few or you wont make it out!

Great little spot for fantastic cocktails! Menu caters to all tastes, for those who like something a little sweeter, or to the brave who crave a strong cocktail!
Décor is clean and minimalist, lending itself a cool vibe without being at all pretentious. Staff is super helpful and really know their drinks!

Visited White Lyan on a Monday night for a girly cocktail catch up. None of the group had been here before, so experiencing the cocktails and hearing about the method of how they make them first hand was great. I was a bit hesitant, but once you try one of the drinks — you instantly become hooked! Since my visit I’ve been telling people that they must visit and I will definitely be back again.

Derrière le bar sobre de ce bar branché de Shoreditch, on trouve des petits génies, qui fabriquent leurs alcools, qui n’utilisent pas de glaçons ni de glacé pilées, qui pulvérisent leur cocktails avec des huiles essentielles et qui mesurent les volumes avec une balance ultra précise… ouioui vous avez bien lu!
Une bien belle découverte, qui nous pousse à la curiosité et qui s’axe autour des l’odorat, de la saveur en bouche… du goût quoi!
Les barmans sont ultra sympas, le son y est «underground», deux salles dont un sous sol où on peut danser… et finalement le service est simple, généreux et pas du tout snob…
Ai testé: le cocktail Salad (Gin maison (comme tous les alcools), laitue (!) et herbes de provences… voilà voilà…c’est servi en 30sec top chrono, la préparation est marrante à regarder. et c’est divin…ça chatouille les papilles et les cellules olfactives… un éventail de saveur dans la bouche pendant au moins 45 secondes… génial!
puis ai testé beaucoup (trop?!) de cocktails et mélange maison. dont je né me souviens pas le nom mais qui sont vraiment chouettes à essayer…
Le prix: en moyenne 9 livres donc très raisonnable vu les quantités et l’aspect expérimental et novateur !

Dope little spot in a section of Hoxton that’s not apparently hip and happening (which might make it even cooler).
I went on a Thursday evening, with hardly any customers (probably a completely different scenario Friday & Saturday… it’s best you book then!). It’s a minimal, all-​black bar which, I’m guessing, helps patrons to focus on the novelty and quality of the cocktails. The music was Dilated Peoples and Nas, which gave it a more urban aura rather a ‘sleek’ one… we have enough of those already.
No ice, no «from scratch» cocktails, yet you still very much get the same ‘theatre’ of all other top craft cocktail joints. With this being said, it’s best to sit at the booths to see how your bartenders make your drinks. Cost is not bad at all either– the top end cocktails only hit £9.
Mr. Lyan, White Lyan’s brainchild, has now made the big leagues by opening his luxurious Dandelyan bar at the new Mondrian Sea Containers Hotel. Both are highly acclaimed, and I’m very glad to try his cocktail joints for the 1^st time. Will return!

I usually come in here after a small evening at Happiness; It’s quite an intimidating space when you’re here alone but the bartenders usually fix that with a smile and a bit of chit chat.
White Lyan’s carefully designed spirits + cocktails + glasses are a thing to behold and I’m often amazed when I turn up at 8pm and I’m the only person here sampling them.
What I really like is that these custom drinks are themed and often taste very much like the theme being presented (a drink themed around a meadow that tastes like a meadow full of flowers? OKAY)
It’s mentioned in another review that the snacks are «overpriced», but I’ve never really felt that — I love the combinations being served of salty crisps and chocolate spread or the glorious sausages. They complement the drinks being served really well without getting in the way of the main attraction.
After a few rounds of See Nos they’re also needed — boy are those short drinks dangerous.

I’m definitely a fan of this unique little bar. The biggest pluses: the quality of the cocktails, the uniqueness of the recipes, the fact that every cocktail comes in a specially designated glass and the bartenders will chat with you regardless how uncool you are. The downside: overpriced snacks and a bit of a sterile feeling seating. However, it works and I still love it.
