I come to this pub fairly regularly at lunch time as it is handy for my place of work, has something for everyone on their menu & is not too expensive. Inside it’s a pretty standard pub, nothing fancy but does the job. The staff are friendly enough. The food is fine — the fish finger sandwich is a particular favourite — but we often wait a long time for it to arrive. To be fair to them we are usually a largish group of about 8+, each ordering separately, so that’s all separate checks for the kitchen… We keep going back anyway!

Fantastic location. The fantastic location might have lulled the landlords into a false sense of security, there’s a certain complacency about the inside. It’s not very inspiring — a bit dark. Also bar staff were pretty bored looking and, while not unfriendly, might have been a bit more genial for what is really a ‘local’. And the killer — no coke, only Pepsi, and it was out of a bottle and therefore flat. For a ridiculous amount of money(as soft drinks in pubs always are) that’s just not on. Nice if you get a table by the window but I wouldn’t take friends here or anything. Didn’t eat, menu sounds nice and they do a BBQ up on the terrace should we ever get some summer. SInce I live locally I’ll probably keep an open mind and try it a few times.

Nice place, right by the river Wandle. 5 real ale taps, so a good choice of ales. Friendly staff.

Not a bad pub. It has nice views over the river(so is pretty, even on rainy days!) It is very spacious, with loads of room to grab a table, sit down and relax… The food sounded good on the menu, but wasn’t particularly impressive once it appeared. We shared a huge platter full of meat, which looked amazing but was just reheated packet grub. It had that squishy texture that only really happens when you microwave mini sausages… *le sigh.* Ah well… it’s cheap, and it’s a good place to stop if you are walking along the river Wandle…
