If you like cheap booze and good pub grub then this place is for you! Staffare good and food comes out quick! As far as Weatherspoons pubs go this is my favorite, good area near other pubs if your are on a night out or if you just happen to fancy a quick beer and some food after an afternoon of shopping then crack on in here.

What a wonderful dive always teeming with atmosphere and cheap drinks. The barstaff change completely everytime I’m here but there’s always one person who’s there and that is Terry the postman, who is always a pleasure to see. He is there every single day enjoying himself and he always brings a smile to my face when he stares out the window wondering where his life has gone, with his 80s mullet and glasses that rest beautifully on his face. The cocktails are expertly made, they are professionally measured and gloriously mixed. My favourite cocktails has to be the Blue Lagoon or the Purple Haze. I tell you what, have five pitchers of those each on Monday Madness with extra shots of vodka results in me and my glorious group of chums throwing Dominos pizza and garlic sauce at cars. My favourite part of the pub are the small toilets where one can get intimate with another fellow pubgoer on a Friday night when it’s packed. Three urinals and one cubicle I think is perfect for a busy pub. Be careful though the floors get covered in piss pretty quick on a Friday night and I have to confess I almost slipped, that would have not gone down well with my mother who’d be doing the washing the next day. You know it’s been a good night when the bell rings for final orders at 9:30 and you’re pretty drunk on them glitterbombs. If you’re in Loughton this has to be your first stop!

Hey it’s a Weatherspoons, but hey it’s dirt cheap! It only costs 5£ for two pints! Can’t beat that! I’ve been here a few times. In my opinion this is the best pub on Loughton High Street. It convenient if using public transport as the bus stop is right outside the front door! My husband tends to prefer this pub for watching sports as The Gardeners and Foresters don’t have screens. They play all the big games and tend to have a decent atmosphere! Overall, it’s a Weatherspoons so pretty basic, but sometimes basic is all that you need!

Another Wetherspoons pub so need I say any more. Good cheap food and drink. A Post Office transformed into a pub. Friendly atmosphere with a mixture of age groups.

The cheapest pub in miles. This where a lot of the students from local sixth forms and colleges first start to drink, so it can get rowdy towards the end of a good night. The food is good and very cheap as is the alcohol and there are often promotions such as £1 pints! Probably the best place for a cheap night out.

Probably the cheapest place for booze you could fine.!! Mixture of crowds old and young. Desperately needs refurbishing. However we always start here to get some cheap drinks in(credit crunch and all that!!) I think a bottle of wine is £6, bargain! Good place to meet but please move on as you could become as stale as the wallpaper in there!

A good pub, owned by weatherspoons so the booze will always be cheap. Can lack atmosphere, but gets very busy on a fri and sat night so that can add to the atmosphere. Good location and has a good array of takeways next to it for the walk home!

Ahh the Last post. how we love you so! As an ex employee and regular, I am happy to say that this is still my favourite pub in Loughton. The staff are friendly and it is decidedly cheaper than any other venue in Loughton. The crowd you get in the last post decides entirely on the day and time of your visit. During the day monday — friday you tend to get the staple regulars of 50+ some enjoying their meals for 2 for £6.99, some a cup of tea or coffee and some for their daily pint with friends. It is a great meeting place as its location is central to the high road. At aroung 1pm you will get people from the local offices arriving for a liquid lunch. The evenings brings students and locals alike. There is Monday Club, Steak Club and Curry Club which offer deals on food and drink that arent available on other days. The food is of a good standard and contrary to popular belief is isnt all microwaved!(I know I used to run the kitchen) It can get pretty rammed on a Friday but it has a good friendly vibe. All in all the post is like a part of the family you just have to be careful not to become part of the wood work, it is easy to do!
