Dropped in to Cobbles one evening while looking for a wifi hotspot to check my mail. (Went back later in the week for another couple of drinks and chat.) Found this place thanks to a kind lady at the Kings Head down the road. Cobbles was fantastic, friendly staff, even friendlier clientelle and some good ciders. I’m not much of a beer head in spite of being an Aussie. (Heresey I know.) Thanks to them they made a wonderful stay in Louth even better. The atmosphere was good, I agree very much like a TV «local» or a stage set but even better for it.

This is a funny little bar, tucked away down New Street, but they put on some fantastic live music sometimes! It’s attached to Samuel’s, but the linking doors are rarely open. It’s a bit like a stage set or a TV pub because it’s so small — what you see is basically what you get when you walk in the door, which is a bit disconcerting. I like the olde-​worlde style though and the fact that it’s close to the town centre.
I have eaten in Cobbles but that was years ago, from their lunch menu — I’m not even sure if they do food any more! I remember it was very yummy though.
