Hales Personnel Services

I used Hales when I was in between jobs last year: I was with them for around 3 months. When I went in the service seemed professional, and the staff were friendly. However, they left it for weeks before they found me a job, and that was only for a couple of days. Previously to that, they had sent me for interviews and never got back to me, and messed me around quite a bit. Luckily (for me), the 3-​day job they did provide turned into a six week placement when someone went off sick. So I accrued quite a few hours with them by the time I got a regular job.
When it came to leaving them and claiming my holiday pay (A legal right), they refused to give me this, until I told them I wanted to take the matter further, at which point they sent me a cheque.
Being unemployed is very hard, and employment agencies are often difficult to work with. If you can, I’d say steer clear of this one!
