Located about five minutes drive from Lymm village centre, the Jolly Thresher is perhaps a bit isolated for those without transport and if that’s you I wouldn’t particularly recommend travelling there simply for a pint. There’s nothing wrong with their drink selection, as they serve a range of beers and ales, but I’ve been put off by the hygiene situation in the kitchen. My meal was cooked perfectly, however I was disturbed to find four or five strands of human hair in my lunch. Had this not happened my meal would’ve been fine so, as it’s been about a year since I last ate there, I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt. Sans-hair the food was good value. There may not be much special about it but I imagine it would satisfy most hungry families. In fact the onsite parking facilities and large beer garden make the Jolly Thresher a good place to visit for that once-every-often pub lunch or family meal. Like I said, it won’t blow your mind but more importantly it also wont hurt your wallet.

This is a nice pub on the outskirts of Lymm, it is very easy to get to by car. The pub is quite big with a bar area and seating, a restaurant area and also a heated decking area outside with more tables. The prices for drinks here are about average and the same for the food. The food isnt bad with the usual pub food choices such as bangers and mash, curry, Lasagne, Burgers, fish and chips etc. The service is quick and all the staff i have come across are friendly. The outside decking area is nice on a sunny day with a large area of grass for kids to play. Its convenient that the decking area has an electronic roof cover which can be extended out in bad weather or at night time to allow you to still stay outside. There is a large car park to the side of the pub so parking is not a problem.
