It may not be the coolest shoe shops around, you don’t hear kids exclaiming with bursting pride «They is from Barratts innit!!» but you can’t really argue with 85 years plus of trading can you?
If you need some shoes for work and you don’t work in Vivienne Westwood then Barratts really is the reflex reaction isn’t it?
In fact with so many modern strangers occupying retail outlets on my high street these days I almost have a sepia tinged warmspot for Barratts… hang on that warm spot isn’t sepia, it’s yellow… no…I’ve actually wet myself.

Not very cool… unless your under the age of 11 or trying to achieve some ironic fashion sense.
This shop does however sell very sensible shoes that any podiatrist would praise. The other positive is that if you do have a child under the age of 11 the service here is the best in town. They will measure your feet and advise on the best shoes for every occasion.
