An excellent evening: we realised we would have to book for Saturday night, and though they could only offer 6.30 or 9.00, 6.30 was fine, and we were not rushed. We were allocated to upstairs which was quite quiet and spacious. On leaving we notiiced downstairs was busier than we would prefer, with the tables quite close together, so we were pleased to be upstairs. The food still arrived hot on its journey from the kitchen. Very pleasing introductory bread and lovely Meze starter for 2 to share. Menu was wide but not too much so. We had duck with Chinese veg and pancetta-wrapped pork medallions. All well cooked and extra vegetables were lavish in size. Quite expensive but not, I think, overpriced.

Went here for my birthday meal on a sunday, Very family safe place. Very nicely redone, looks like a modern pub. when you sit down they give you warm bread. The food had a good variety and not too price. I went with the roast chicken and couldnt believe how much food was on my plate. Big portions and everything home made. One of the best places ive eaten in for a long time.

Set in the Beautiful village of Bearsted, just outside Maidstone in Kent and sponsoring the local cricket team who play on the green outside. This used to be a quaint and cosy pub with good pub food, and a lovely place to relax on a saturday night. However since being sold out to another company it has taken on exclusive wine bar setting completely inappropriate for the village setting it enjoys. what used to be a reasonably priced meal out will now cost alot more than a family budget allows and the drinks have increased in price to. That said. for a good meal out and if you don’t mind the expense it is still the place to go.
