Being born and raised in India, I automatically take a fascination towards jewelry(bangles, chunky rings, big chains etc) and colorful scarves. Most of the stock in Accessorize comes from India but the only difference being they are ten times the price that I usually pay in India and the quality is 5 times worse. But I still can’t help walking into this store every time I am at some station getting bored(they usually have an outlet in most major train stations). I will admit that I have also bought that odd scarf or a pair of bracelet from here and they usually did not disappoint apart from the fact that it was a bit over priced(could get the same thing in forever 21 or H&M for much cheaper). In my last visit to London, I was waiting at Euston station to get my train back to Manchester and I desperately needed something to tie my hair with something(It was an absolute mess after going through the mid-march snow and hail storm) so I entered Accessorize and found some pretty looking hair clips. I decided to buy them, they were 4.50(again over priced) but I needed them. I literally got out of the store and started doing my hair up with one of those clips and my train was announced. So I rushed to get my train and before I even got in the train the clip broke and fell off(WOW). I couldn’t be bothered picking it up because it was already in two halves(I could have bought a posh M&S sandwich with that and it would have at least filled me up for a few hours). So I had a terrible experience and I am not going to forget that in the near future! Verdict: Great if you want to buy over priced accessories of Shit quality!

OK damn. That is some serious serious service. Not only are the staff in here in a permanent good mood, but they are also psychic and witty. Came in to find a suitable swimsuit to shrinkwrap my whale carcass of a body into(going on holiday next week, bikini is not an option due to overeating and laziness) and was met with a total jumblesale-cum-refugee supply drop nightmare. It was a Saturday and people were ripping things from the shelves and wading through discarded garments and trinkets strewn across the floor. I fought my way to the back to find the swimwear and started hyperventilating with no swimsuits in sight and only dental floss bikinis on offer. Despite the Saturday mayhem a nice shop attendant came over and asked what I was looking for. I vaguely described having seen a swimsuit in there about ten years ago that was blue or something and she immediately found the exact thing I was looking for, advised me on the size, took it to the register for me and cashed it off. She was a total diamond and without her I’d be packing my suitcase with cold pangs of flabby fear.

Accessorize is a girl’s next stop after she’s probably just bought a new dress. Then she wonders of all the things that would go with her outfit and there would be no better place an Accessorize to go and do this job! They have everything from jewellery and such pretty pieces in them! big chunky ones to little delicate pieces to beautifully engraved ones. They also have a huge collection of bags and hats/caps. Another thing you would love here is the lacy and pretty underwear! I love the underwear here, so full of ribbons et al! Pretty girls, Pretty things, Accessorize!

We’re constantly told to accessorise by fashion magazines to bring life to even the dullest of outfits. And I know I’m spelling the word differently to the shop title, that’s my English vernacular’s prerogative and it ain’t changing, despite the fact that I use words like ‘ain’t’. Now I’ve always liked this store, with its standalone branches and its little concessions next to its big sister Monsoon, there’s something boho and hippy about the gloves, scarves and hats and it isn’t just wearable items you can find here. Make-up bags, mini calculators in the shape of flowers, stationery and diaries are all in full force. Plus if you’re stuck for flip-flops or slippers, they have everything in here. I’ll admit that I’m most likely to be found in here during a sale. I do think, like Monsoon, the items are a little expensive for what they are… but admittedly, everything does feel pretty luxurious and lovely. As a slightly OCD person I highly appreciate the way in which Accessorize categorises its jewellery via colour coordination, for example there’ll be a turquoisey section, a bronzey coppery section, a red section, a silvery green section and so on. It’s great for finding matching bits and bobs. The hats are fantastic, in fact when I was after a baker’s boy cap for what felt like eons, I found a lovely simple black one in here. And after all, when you’ve been searching for something for ages, you tend to be willing to pay a little more for it. Located in the slightly ‘posher’ section of the Arndale Centre, Accessorize seems right at home. Definitely worth checking out for Christmas gifts, last minute essentials, tiny bags or my favourite… slipper socks. Now for a cup of cocoa and a good movie. Mmmm.

I love Accessorize! They sell so much lovely pretty stuff, I want everything! This shop really brings the girl out in you, I find myself cooing over earrings and necklaces, it’s quite sad really! But I’ve got some lovely little pieces from here and it’s so cheap too, I got a necklace which has a tiny little teacup on it with a tiny little spoon and every time I wear it I get told about how lovely it is! It was £3.99! They also have a really good range of bags and purses which are really good quality and really nice too! And with those prices you can buy one to match every outfit!

More of a call to arms than a shop name, Accessorize demands that girls in this country unite in one giant army of decorated bling! The always changing range includes every kind of bag, purse, item of jewellery, belt, hat, scarf, flip flop, pair of gloves, hair accessory and cosmetics range that there ever was or ever will be. With the first store opening in London in 1984 Accessorizes today are like rats– you’re never more than 10ft away from one.
