I had mussels and french fries, it was delicious! Maybe a little bit pricey. but a great atmosphere and a wonderful evening. We don’t recommend the burgers though. they were pretty bog standard not really standout for the price.

I love this Café Rouge! Even though it’s part of a large chain, the place has real charm. It has beautiful French posters advertising past art exhibitions, hand-painted murals on the wall and a wooden bar that wouldn’t look out of place in a Parisian coffee shop. The staff are always really well turned out and friendly, although service can be a little slow. So don’t expect to pop in for a quick meal! The menu offers two options: lighter lunch fare and evening meals. It could have a better selection for vegetarians, but there are one or two tasty meat-free meals on there, including the amazing Légumes Breton. C’est magnifique! I love the starter of freshly baked bread batons, too they’re still warm and served with mouthwatering garlic butter. This Café Rouge has tables and chairs outside, so it’s a particularly nice place to visit for an al fresco meal in the Summer. However, it is worth noting that the outdoor dining area is right next to the Hog’s Head beer garden, which can sometimes get a little rowdy.

I know it’s a chain but I quite like Café Rouge. I like the retro French posters on the walls and the red and white table cloths that remind me of Paris. The selection of food and drink is pretty good too and while it may not win any culinary awards, it’s consistent and you know what to expect. The Poulet Supreme au Roquefort is very tasty and goes down well with a glass of Sancerre. If you’re still hungry opt for the Assortment of Desserts, which is also good for sharing. Breakfasts are good too, especially if you’re out of town and don’t fancy the hotel buffet. And it’s great for a cup of tea or coffee if you need a break from shopping or if you just want to sit quietly and read a book. Great for rainy days, quiet afternoons and working breakfasts.

Café Rouge is generally a lovely place to visit for some French cuisine. The menu offers a fairly good range and although slightly more expensive than the other chain restaurants available, it is a good quality of food. The outside area offer a place to sit and eat in the sunshine which also offers an excellent spot for people-watching on a busy Saturday afternoon in the village. While it makes a nice location to go for a quick coffee, I am constantly disappointed by the drinks they offer. Why are their hot drinks so cold?!? The hot chocolate is nice but always arrives at a tepid temperature, which is very annoying indeed.

This café rouge in particular has a really good location. The sun is often shining right on the outdoor seating area, even in the winter, so i s a really good meeting place. I really like café rouge and its a place where you know what your getting. I often go for the crème brûlée dessert, its lovely.
