Very good list of tapas, and a nice selection of wine. Only 2 beers on tap, but the wine list is more than enough to get you to the next spot. Walk up to the bar for a bite. My pet peeve is the charge for bread when you order food. It’s tapas, it should be priced in when you order.

Amazing food, amazing service and great atmosphere! Highly recommend if you love tapas! We was spoken to my a friendly member of the team who gave us excellent service and was knowledgeable about the food and wine! Will be heading back!

I had been craving spanish food for sometime when I came here and I was a little concerned that my desire for chorizo and manchego would mean I was disappointed with what I was served. Not the case. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food — particularly the pork cheeks which were exceptionally moreish. The size of the plates is quite decent and we ordered far too much for two people. The food isn’t cheap but the serving size is big enough that you don’t need to order as much as you expect.

I love Evuna. I have long been a fan of the Deansgate one though it has taken me ages to actually visit the NQ one, which is odd since I live close by. Before Iberica came along. Evuna was my favourite Spanish restaurant outside of Spain, now it’s my joint favourite. Spanish cuisine is my favourite food and I have spent a lot of time in Spain so I do have quite high standards. The one edge this has over the swanky new señor in town is that it is much more accessible and reasonably priced. I suppose really, Iberica is like the swanky restaurant you’d get in a big city like Madrid and Evuna is much more like a local neighbourhood place in a smaller town or city. And the NQ one definitely has that feel about it, more so than the Deansgate original. The reason for the visit today was treating a friend who has helped me out recently. He is a real foodie so was pleased when I suggested Evuna. Like me, he’d never been to the NQ one, so it was a first for us both. We were greeted by a waitress who asked if we had booked. I think they must have had quite a few bookings as she was trying to find a place for us. In the end, we happily sat at the bar, which I like to do when in Spain, so added to the authenticity. If there are a few in your group, it would probably be a good idea to ring ahead. We had tapas and went for the lunch deal of 3 tapas for £9.99 each, and shared it all. We had the albondigas, chorizo in red wine, calamares, tuna pasties, patatas bravas and pan Catalan. The quality of the food was as good as in the Deansgate original which is pleasing. If you order from the lunch deal, you get a glass of house red or white for £3.50 rather than the usual £4.50, which is a good deal. My friend had this and liked the wine. I have had house red at the other Evuna and found it very good. I went for a different wine though forgot to write down the name. I think it was the Melquior Seleccion or something similar(but don’t quote me). It was £43 for two of us — being the two lunch deals, a glass of house red, three glasses of the other wine I had and a cappuccino. Pretty good value in a pretty great venue. I must remember to come to this one more often rather than always going to the other side of town.

Affordable lunch menu(3 tapas for £9.99 and a house wine for £3.50 if you order the lunch menu). The staffs know their wine and would recommend which tapas to accompany the wine with. If you are a fan of wine, I would recommend trying out spanish wine here.

We walked in with a group of five without a dinner reservation and they were able to seat us immediately. Very tasty tapas and paella. We enjoyed the pitchers of sangria too. Great rustic décor and very good service. Highly recommend this option when in Manchester.

Evuna is one of my favourite tapas restaurants in Manchester. Upon entering we were greeted by the smiling hostess, who wasted no time in showing us to our seats. We had seats at the bar, which I loved. There’s something different about sitting side by side whilst sharing Spanish tapas rather than being on a huge table. It gave the ambiance even more of an authentic Mediterranean feel than any other tapas place I’ve been to. I ordered a glass of Sangria(which was lovely) and looked over the menu. We ordered a huge selection of tapas to share, including; olives to start, which were nice to nibble as we decided on what to order for the rest of our tapas. Then came Calamari — very well cooked, Spanish omelette — nice and fluffy and patatas bravas — which weren’t too spicy, all neatly laid out on a board — closely followed by pork and beef meatballs with a wine and tomato sauce, chorizo in red wine — gorgeous!, and some lovely and tender beef fillet skewers. An extra special mention goes to the Iberico Pork cheeks. This dish was outstanding! They literally fell apart in your mouth. The Half seabass with garlic and chilli that we ordered was particularly good too! My experience at Evuna was great, the service was fast and friendly and the food was fabulous. It’s quite expensive, but worth it! They reportedly do a fantastic paella here(40 mins waiting time) so I would hope I’d be back to try that sometime. If you’re in the NQ or walking past Evuna on Deansgate, I would most definitely recommend eating here!

Came in here for dinner with a few friends since we couldn’t get into Superstore round the corner. Had always fancied trying it anyway. With it being a tapas and wine bar we ordered a bottle of wine– in terms of the tapas we all just picked a few things we wanted. The prices of the individual dishes aren’t that cheap and we probably ordered too many to be fair. Some of the things we ordered included the Manchego cheese, patatas bravas, tortilla espanola and albondigas– pretty standard. I ordered a bunch of things off the specials menu including the pork belly, which was really tasty. It was very busy so the atmosphere was great. I thought it was great personally but my friends thought it was expensive for what it was. I think the bill came to about £25 per head with wine.

We were a group of five adults and an eighteen month old baby. We tried home sweet home and common but both were overflowing and we were hungry. So, evuna it was. We were seated immediately, without having made any reservation, again. We got 3 pints of alhambra, a glass of white and a j2o to drink. We went for the 3 tapas for £9.99 and got six plates. One each of chicken skewers, chicken paprika, patatas bravas, tomato bread, chorizo in red wine and albondigas(meat balls). We also got spinach and pine nuts and mayo potatoes. We ordered a vegetarian and a chicken chorizo paella between the five of us. The food was very tasteful and flavoursome. We could complain about nothing(sorry about the pessimistic tone there) and were very pleased. Our friends from Huddersfield summed it up by saying it was the best meal they’d ever had in a long time. I hope, as always, they maintain these standards for a long time to come.

Evuna is currently my favourite restaurant in Manchester, although in truth, I live for good Chorizo cooked in red wine, so this place was always going to do well out of me. Nearly ended up at a different, nearby restaurant that night, but they decided NOT to take six Management Consultants dining out on expenses because they’d stopped cooking eight minutes earlier(those fools), and I was able to drag everyone back down the road to this place for which we were all glad we had! The first thing I have to call out is that our waiter actually advised us to order LESS tapas, because they were decent-sized portions! I’ll always respect someone who’ll be honest that way even at the expense of a profit, and we didn’t even finish everything we ordered minus one or two options! We had a bit of a joke about it at the end and all the staff here really contribute to the excellent atmosphere. I(of course) ordered my ‘Chorizo cocina en vino tinto’ and it was absolutely delicious. I’d ordered it at Per Tutti the week before, and this was the better of the two. Couldn’t help but drain the sauce at the end and I’m actually salivating as a type this. The Iberico Pork Cheek was practically falling apart to the touch; beautiful to eat and very happy with the Patatas Bravas also, with this all washed down with some well-match Alhambras.

Lunch today here. Enticed in by the three tapas for a tenner during the day from a limited menu but it had all the classics, albondigas, calamares, patatas bravas, tortilla etc. All were only ok really. Meatballs were mediocre though and lacked taste. Garlic bread with tomato was soggy. Nice atmosphere and tables available and got busier as we were there. Great deal for the money though!

Hi :-) please read all my reviews and you’ll find whilst I’m enthusiastic about the places I love I don’t normally say something as radical as this… I also only write reviews if I think it’s a 4⁄5 star effort … The intensity of the flavours and ingredients used at Evuna and the quality of cooking has just BLOWN away 30 years of Spanish restaurants and even Tapas flavours in Spain! A cosy, wooden rich room, evocative of a Sherry barrels warmth, and friendly efficient service(polite too) a humdrum of animated conversation and then the smoky chorizo as dark as a bulls coat, the creamy bite of the manchego as sweet as sherry, and the acid and rich peppers stuffed with morcilla left my taste buds tingling for my next visit with friends to sit and sip the many wines on offer(Evuna is a wine importer) truly tapas to linger over with conversation and time … I can’t praise this enough !!! Book now :-)
