Holiday Inn Express Hotel Manchester-East

It’s been almost a year, and despite repeated phone calls and emails to the manager of this hotel, my friends and I never heard back or received a refund re the group rate.
Great customer service job, Holiday Inn.

As in the United States, Holiday Inn Expresses in the UK are quite consistent. Clean and comfortable rooms, nice amenities, and a free hot breakfast. We had four in our party, and the reception attendant upgraded our (inadvertently booked) double room to one that included a pull-​out sofabed. Our room in the Manchester HI Express was much more spacious than the one that we’d stayed at on Finchley Road in London.
Breakfast includes bangers, beans, eggs, cereals, yogurt, fresh fruit, and a variety of breads and pastries. Parking is free (which is harder to find in the UK than you’d expect). The online listing for the hotel noted free wifi, but you only get 30 minutes of complimentary access. When we showed the front desk that our reservation included free wifi, they gave us a few extra 30 minute vouchers.
The hotel isn’t close to Manchester airport, which was our morning destination. In morning traffic, allow 35 minutes to get to MAN.
