We’ve been to and take away food from Jasmine on a few occasions. The BYO is a good attraction for it but the food is really good. The only problem is the Schawarma, it’s vinegary and quite dry. I don’t know if it’s a particular take on it but I’m not keen. The rest of the dishes are all super tasty and I would strongly recommend it.

We ordered take out here for a night in of drinking and chat, the promise of Shawarma convinced me to try Jasmine. When looking through the menu my appetite was whet by the dishes on offer and other people’s reviews, I assumed the higher price would be justified by the quality but I was left very disappointed. For £8.50 I received a dry, brown foil tray of vinegary lamb with no hint of spice and no additional sides, I just about managed to hide my surprise at basically receiving half a bad meal, by pinching my friends lovely little pittas and baba ganoush. Those sides told me that Jasmine obviously do make nice food, but the Shawarma was definitely not their forte, it was actually terrible now I think of it. For double the price of an infinitely better kebab at Jaffa on Wilmslow Rd I think I’ll steer clear of Jasmine in future

I got takeout from here and was really very impressed with it. It’s not a cheap option for a takeaway meal but it is high-quality, delicious food. Between two people we ordered falafel, hummus, a chicken kebab and a lamb shawarma kebab, with some extra bread. This came to around £25. It was a lot of food and could easily have fed more than two people if they’re not as greedy as us. The hummus was not like what I’m used to although that’s not a criticism. The texture was incredibly smooth, the flavour was incredible, and it came with an indulgent drizzle of olive oil on top. Falafel came shaped like tiny doughnuts which I found very amusing, and were really tasty, especially when smeared with hummus and wrapped up in a piece of bread. Both the chicken and the lamb were juicy and delicious. I’m never the hugest fan of chicken as I find it’s so often overcooked, dry and bland, but this was so good it made me remember why people like this meat so much. Lamb shawarma was very tasty and not tough at all, which is often the problem with lamb dishes. I enjoyed all my food from here and would happily get takeaway again, or head to the restaurant for a meal(armed with a few beers as it’s BYOB).

Got a Friday night takeaway and it was good! I got Mutable for a starter -” Baked aubergine mashed with tahineh, yoghurt & garlic garnished with herbs topped with olive oil served with homemade bread”. This was £3.35 and yum. Filled about half the tray and was pretty filling with a big white pitta type bread. Also got Bamieh for £8.50 — ” Fresh okra cooked with chunks of tender lamb in tomato sauce with garlic & spices, served with rice” which was again pretty tasty and I enjoyed having some for lunch today too. Quality food. I’ve not been to the restaurant but I’ve heard it’s good. Ordered on Just Eat and it took about 40 minutes which isn’t too bad for Friday night.

I came here with my boyfriend and celebrated Eid-al-Fitr around 8 pm. It wasn’t crowed at all and we had a nice sitting place at the window. The tables are covered with paper sheets… I was expecting at least cotton table linen since we are in Chorlton! :) … anyway, i did like the waitress who was polite and assertive. Food: I ordered Falafel and Ful Madames for starter with their homemade bread. It was delicious and hot! Main Course: Lamb chunks in Aubergine/tomato sauce with yogurt and almonds. I loved it and the chef surprised me with an additional plate with fried onion rice :) yum! All in all I was a happy girl after a great meal and would come back again.

This is the Chorlton equivalent of Alladins in Withington. The food is at its best when you order the the starters in multiples! We had frickin six and I shit you not, I was stuffed and still wished I could carry on. Just incredible flavours with that middle eastern flare that you just can’t mistake. Think Turkish, think medditeranean, think bring your own booze. The Falafel and Tahini was the best in a long time, light and fluffy and lemony, the Borek were crisp and bursting with flavour. So much good stuff and incredible value. Six dishes, two eaters, three soft drinks, 2 coffees, £29. This means Jasmine is the hands down best value I’ve ever had! The décor is an after thought but for me this is secondary, it’s all about the food and service and both of these were exemplary
