Mei Dim

Nice yummy Chinese food.
Décor and ambience so so only.
Price was reasonable, expect to spend around £7−10 per person (nothing fancy).
Roasted duck, chicken and pork (char siu) were all yummy.
Don’t go if you want a romantic meal. Go if you want good authentic Chinese.
Did we like the meal? Yes.
Do we recommend? Yes.
They do takeaway too.

Once again it was my choice to eat somewhere (why is it always me)!?
I have passed this place a hundred times or more enroute to wasabi .and it’s always seemed full, and the picture display of dim sum was more than enough to tease me in.
Descending into the warmth there were numerous of large round tables filled with people who looked relaxed. We were seated in the naughty corner .
I have to say the only thing that annoyed us was the regularity of the waitress asking if we had ordered yet. when we had only just say down and not opened the menu.
After asking for the 3^rd time we were ready. A dim sum starter to banquet, a main of sheczhan squid and noodles to share. When we ordered the green tea it was monitored regularly. the teapot was replaced three times and they constantly refilled our cups. It was nice but a little OTT. if it had been wine we would have passed out.
When the first course of dumplings came through they looked nice in the bamboo steamers but the consistency was a little off. The prawn dumplings shell was very sticky and came detached easily from the filling. The custard buns contained a slightly grainy filling but we’re ok.
These gone another set of assorted dumplings arrived. these were okay. and the main spicy squid was tasty too.
I did hope there would be more dim sum choices though and I thought the quality would have been better. The service was really good. maybe too obsessive though to a point where you wanted to poke them with a chopstick. Accept when we wanted the bill they brought us more tea. Mrs Doyle from Father Ted had serious competition here!
Not a bad place overall but I need to try the other restaurants!
