I really quite like the Messenger of Peace statue. Lots of the other statues in Manchester are quite classical, of famous and important(mostly) men or women from Manchester’s past. I like the Messenger of Peace statue because it’s different and involves some original design and thought. The Messenger of Peace Statue exists to celebrate Manchester’s status as the first Nuclear Free City in 1986. The statue is made of bronze and features a woman sitting with birds on her lap in the surrounding area.
