On the hunt to support local businesses and independent businesses Mon Amie is giving those big boys in the centre of town a good olé run for their money. Mon Amie has been here for as long as I can remember, and continues as it always has done to pull in a trade as a boutique, specialising in women’s clothing and kid’s clothing too. You can love it and hate it for simple reasons, the cute factor, love it, the price factor, hate it. It’s hard to believe anyone would spend such intense amounts of money from their paycheques on items of clothing for their kidlets that they’re gonna grow out of in about, pfft 3 months max. But if you’ve got it, and you love seeing your cherub in adorable clothing, then there really is a fine selection in Mon Amie, this is where the buyers do good. Some of the older fashions for girls can be a bit questionable at times, there’s often something of the eek factor. But the intention to be edgy as the fashionistas would say, is clearly there. Ladies aren’t left out either, as there’s a section for ladies fashion at Mon Amie, which is also a good combination of cute, stylish and fun.

This is a cool little boutique in Prestwich(perhaps the only really successful one that isn’t a charity shop??) which sells women’s clothes, jewellery and accessories. Back before Pixie Geldoff made its leather jackets the cover up de rigeur I got a punky Religion top from here. The mix of styles in Mon Amie is exactly that; it isn’t just one aesthetic. There is plenty of hippie style fashion here too as well as sensible clothes that your mother would love. The prices vary wildly but you can easily pick up a bargain. Why mooch into the Northern Quarter on rainy days? If you live in the area, pop into Mon Amie and support this local fashion shop.
