Sushi Pro This place has crisp design is clean and is refreshingly transparent about whats on offer. Whether you takeaway or eat in there’s a very professional vibe here a modern business demeanor. My favourite aspect that every business should copy is the labels have all ingredients listed even the E numbers! Overall this place is a great addition to Manchester with a myriad of options, I hope they continue to add more including some more cheaper vegan ones.

This place is just around the corner from my office and is quickly becoming a lunchtime staple! The choice and selection is huge — expect to be greeted by crowds all bustled around the fridges trying to decide! Highly recommended from me would be the tuna box, or any of the hot curries — for the price, the portion sizes are amazing! Only downside is due to how popular this place is getting if you go the wrong end of lunchtime there sometimes isn’t much left!

Sushi around town is really getting better! This place is dedicated to sushi unlike some takeaway places that do a whole range of Asian cuisine. AND it’s like a new take on Yo Sushi except much more reasonably priced and solid fresh fish. I got a heafty box of 6 sushi rolls and 6 sashimi pieces on rice — all in all it cost less than £5. So… so far so good! Also each box comes with a little something extra: sometimes edamame, sometimes not. Regardless, definitely a top new place to watch out for. Also it’s open great hours so you can pop in on the get go and leave quickly with something tasty. They also do sitting in but I’m not sure if the price is more expensive. Will definitely be stopping by often and would recommend to anyone who needs sushi on the go. Ps: there boxes are well made and elegant — just saying, it’s a comforting added touch!

I have visited this place a couple of times now and think it’s pretty awesome! The sushi is fresh and a bit different to your normal selection from Sainsburys or similar places. The seared salmon is my favourite so far but there is so many more I haven’t tried yet. The service is pretty standard no fuss but nothing to complain about! The food is reasonably priced, filling and spices up your lunch time. Would definitely recommend a visit.

I popped in here for a quick snack before a gig at The Ritz and was pleasantly surprised by the quality and price. There’s more room inside than you can tell from outside. It might be hard to get a table at peak times but at 5.30 on a Friday there were loads free. You have to pay extra(VAT) to eat in. You also have to pay extra for chopsticks. I grabbed a small box of salmon sashimi which I can’t remember the exact price of it but it was under £4. This has four decent pieces along with soy sauce, pickled ginger and wasabi. The portion size would have been too small for a meal for me personally but was great as something to keep me going. The salmon was really delicious and flavourful. Overall this was really satisfying.

I completely disagree with certain previous reviews cough *roz. To state that that the boxes are expensive, they really aren’t especially if you compare prices to that of Wasabi, yo Sushi(who are cheap anyway). I passed this place the other week(it’s been there since mid August) Walking in reminded me of the large fridge section of boots or Eat. All the sushi here comes prepacked so its ideal for the quick takeout. With a choice of udon soups on the top shelf, underneath they had individually wrapped handrolls, large sashimi boxes, salmon, chicken, dumplings and swordfish. As for the drinks I didn’t see anything alcoholic. not even the likes of sake or asahi. Choosing a stackful of boxes we opened them up to reveal our treasure. The first one was the seared swordfish, which is not the cheapest fish. Yet here I was eating massive chunks of it for £3.50ODD. Next was the tuna and salmon sashimi box. I think this was the most expensive box, at £7 but the amount of sashimi it contained was amazing. Box number 3 exposed x3 salmon nigiri, x3 tuna Nigiri, x6 salmon California rolls and edamame beans. This was around the 6.50 Mark which again works out cheaper than £2 a plate for two pieces! Finally we fought over the salmon box, which held maki and nigiri for £3.50. This place gets its high rating mainly due to the ideology of it. Cracking concept, great value for money and convenient. I mean the décor is okay. although next time look at the ceiling in the toilet… there is a camera. hopefully its no longer live… The service was also pleasant, a nice lady who asked if we prefered forks or chopsticks(which came with a tooth pick-) However the food will never be five star because everything is refrigerated which makes the rice not as palatable. The tuna is also the same grade that wasabi use. tasty but I’m sure it artificially dyed. So overall I would come back again for some sashimi and a hot soup. but I will not have the very ricey dishes.

Quality sushi at a brown bag price This Geordie transplant to the city is the first of the national sushi takeaways to open here, and it’s a completely new one to me. Unusual flavours of cooked sushi, a selection of sashimi for the purists and a whole load of salads, noodles, drinks and snacks actually push this one over the top, past Wasabi and Itsu. The selection of teas is interesting but not worth writing to Japan or China about. Atmosphere is a little utilitarian — not really conducive to sitting in for anything past the time it takes to eat in. Take out is no cheaper but at least you can choose where you consume your sushi. I’ve eaten her twice already and it’s barely been open: my go-to is the bean curd salad, a great vegan/vegetarian option that I’ve not found anywhere else. When the weather turns, I’ll be back to try out the noodles and dumplings.

Nice to see somewhere doing quick takeaway food on Oxford Street, especially after hours(this was post 8pm). The salmon nigiri and spicy tuna maki were ok but I threw out the salmon maki — maybe it’s personal taste but they tasted way too fishy for me. I had too massive boxes for £9 so on price and taste it wins out over YoSushi(and on taste/quantity of fish over Wasabi). Wouldn’t prioritise it for a return visit but it’s good for a change. New one opening in Spinningfields shortly.

Nudo Sushi Box has just joined the Oxford Road lunch scene with healthy sushi boxes, rice sets and soups & noodles. It has a really great vibe and has been busy every time I’ve passed by — you really need to pick a bit of a quieter time for your first trip though as there is so much to choose from! It’s all lined up on shelves like you would find at a supermarket, however the team are constantly bringing out boxes so you know what you’re looking at is super fresh. I’ve tried two lunches there now — the first was Chicken Teriyaki Rice which they heat for you before you go. This was delicious with great flavour, although could have done with a little more chicken. Today I went with the Dumpling & Nudo King Prawn Sushi Rice Set. Again flavours were spot on, although there was no description of what was in the dumplings(I think veggies). I also tried the Jasmine Silver Needle Tea(£1.80) which I’ve managed to get three drinks out of and still plenty of flavour.
Sadly they’ve priced the boxes quite high, with most items coming it at around £5.00& above, so this could only ever be a treat option for lunch. For a healthy and fresh lunch alternative to a bog standard sandwich though, it’s a great shout. Well worth checking out.
