Being very close to Picadilly Station I have to walk past dozens of foods places to get here, but we do for a fresh lunch that’s low on carbs. There’s normally a queue at lunch time but it moves quickly so don’t worry. Pick a tasty filling, from 20, then pick from any spreads, leaves, salads, cheese and sauces you like. So make it as healthy, cheesey or firey as you want it. As they say 100% customisable. My choice is spicy Chicken with ‘a bit of everything’ from the salad. I always go toasted too at the end, with a can for £1 on top of the wraps around £5. And wave a student card if you have one. If you’re at the station head out the main entrance and over the bridge. It’s on your left across the tram lines. My only negative feedback is that the portion sizes for salad etc vary on who is serving so sometimes the finished pita is a thin cigar shape and sometimes it’s a beast. The meat part is always plenty though.

Just popped in on my way to meet a friend, and it has a subway vibe to it(mentioned by prett much everyone else on here!) I opted for grilled halloumi in a wholemeal wrap. What I was given was actually in a white wrap but I didn’t mind. It’s not like I stick to the healthy eating half the time anyway, and it tasted so much better than a wholemeal wrap would have! Huge choice of salads, dressings and plenty of snacks. They also do soups, salads and breakfast-y type fold too!

I needed a quick lunch before heading back to London, and lovely Unilocalers Michael B. and Emily B. suggested stopping by the Pita Pit on the way. I wasn’t too sure, but since my training ran way over, I didn’t have a whole lot of time, so I stopped in to give it a try. It’s like Subway(or Quiznos or Potbelly or any sandwich chain really) and Chipotle(or Tortilla or Chilango or any burrito chain really) had a baby. And that baby was made out of a piece of pita bread. You order what filling you want and choose the toppings you want. I had the spicy chicken(no surprise) on a whole wheat pita. I added hummus, olives, jalapenos(more spice!), mushrooms, peppers, roasted peppers, lettuce, onions and cheese. And probably more, but I don’t really remember anymore. Then I got the harissa sauce because you can never have too much spice(I sometimes wonder if I have a problem). I got to eat it on my train back to London. And it was so amazingly delicious. Lighter and healthier than a burrito, but not as bready as a sandwich. It was like the best of both worlds inside of my mouth and belly. And I was so happy. So yeah, this needs to take off and become a worldwide phenomenon because it’s fantastic.

Searching for a quick lunch can be tough, especially if all you’ve eaten for the past 3 days is Burgers. I was running to a meeting near Piccadilly station and wanted to grab a bite to eat without feeling guilty for the next 5 hours until I made it to the gym. Alas, step forward Pita Pit. Like pretty much every Unilocaler has mentioned, it has a Subway feel to the layout and how you actually order your food: you start by selecting your choice of pita or salad box, I opted for the regular sized pita(easily big enough for lunch) and filled it with Grilled Chicken and Halloumi. They then move you on to the salad and dressing bar which is full of choice and if you’re a Vegetarian, you could actually make a huge pita with just the options here. I paired my meal up with a nice Craft Juice and some Crisps bringing my total to around £8 — well in budget for a healthy lunch!

Was recommended this place by James G and was v impressed! Café is really modern and inviting and the staff were just as great! We came 5 mins before they closed and they were still happy to serve and chat! I shared the 6 inch Brown pitta with grills halloumi and All the veg apart from jalapeños. You get to choose which base you want for your pitta, homous, tsaksiki or salsa. And also get to choose your sauce at the end, we choose ranch and sweet chilli though there are loads of choices! Amazing value and would definitely come again when about at Piccadilly station!

I’ve seen the signs for Pitta Pit on the Piccadilly Station bridge for a while but have never felt inspired enough by there kebab shop logo to venture across and check it out. Since becoming vegetarian I’ve found a lot of the usual haunts to be quite limiting when it comes to food. Generally unless you want a sandwich stuffed with egg or cheese you can be left feeling a bit unloved. Well no more! After deciding we should give the Pitta Pit a try we ventured across the bridge towards the venue. I still have to say we weren’t confident that we’d made the right choice as from the outside is still doesn’t give you any clue as to waht’s inside. Again… they need a new logo: D Once we entered we were met with a subway like setup of choose the pitta, filling, extras, sauces. They have a great selection of veggie and meat pitta’s in three sizes with enough options and condiments to make you salivate! I went for the fried halloumi with everything: D I know greedy pig right, so that included salad, guacamole, olives, pickled peppers, onions, and a load more stuff I can’t remember. let’s just say the lady who served me had trouble rolling it before she toasted it and handed it back to me. The Pitta Pit seems to have more of a focus on health than the likes of subway and I am a fan of subway as well so no bias here. Also one last point is that I don’t know if you’re like me but when I imagine pitta I imagine the vacuum packed supermarket type, I just can’t iterate enough that PittaPit Pittis. pittus(mouthful) pittas… are way fresher and tastier! I’m so glad I found this little treat and can’t recommend enough! Give it a try!

My office is a 5 minute walk from pita pit and so it gives me another alternative for lunch(the pleasures of working in the city). I discovered pita pit by accident, one morning whilst I was looking out of the tram window on my way to work. Needless to say I was there at lunch time the very same day. Two things about this place that struck me straightaway: 1. The extremely friendly and helpful staff. 2. Their food ordering and queue system. Pita pit is essentially a deli/salad bar/fast food joint, rolled into one. They are a bit like subway(only a bit though) but offer a lot more variety with a menu inspired by all continents of the world. So, I did mention the friendly and polite staff earlier. That’s a great asset for any business, especially a customer facing one. Now I mentioned the queuing system, which is brilliant too. So, you walk in, get to the counter, see the big display board with the list of all the main fillings available and if you want the friendly guy/girl at the counter will help you pick your option. So, you’ve selected the main filling and the pita size and you pay straightaway. Then whilst your main filling is being grilled/prepared, you choose all your salad options that go into your pitta, with cheeses and guacamole(at no extra cost). By the time you’ve got all this sorted, your main filling is out of the grill, into the pita and then wrappped for a quick final toasting and ready to eat. This is the kind of assembly line experience that would make Henry Ford proud! On the face of it, you think ‘so what’. However this kind of arrangement means you wait less and this can be a big factor. Ask yourself, would you rather walk about and explore things in Manchester and clear your head at lunch time or would you rather spend that time standing in a queue to get lunch? The food is affordable, very tasteful, delicious and healthy at the same time. Combine this with the location and the staff, we have another winner here. I’m going back, again. As always I hope they continue to maintain these high standards for a long time to come.

We’ve recently moved into one of the offices around and about Piccadilly Place, and what do we find? Nothing but a hidden away(ish) gem of a lunchtime hangout. With Pittas very much in evidence, and little else on the menu it’s a bit of a one trick pony, but then, so is subway and I’m sure that you’d prefer to expand your horizons a little wouldn’t you? Speaking of subway, the experience is very similar — pick your pitta(white or brown), choose a filling from the pretty wide selection available, and then salad and sauce… When choosing a filling, you should, in my opinion, steer clear of the steak. Whilst it should be one of the nicer options, it actually borders on the chewy — sadly, i’m not the only one sharing that view, meaning that it’ll probably hold true if you went for it too. On the other hand, the tomato chutney(one of the three options you get to pick from at the start — the others being hummous and tzatziki) is great, slightly smokey and sweet. The salad is the usual selection, although you can choose to swap the lettuce for spinach(yum). Finally, stick a sauce on there, BBQ, Mayo, Spicy Chilli, the list goes on… I’ll be going back, it’s a nice change in the sea of chains around my work, and offers some great tasting food for surprisingly few calories. Lets hope to see more from them soon — maybe a Christmasy Turkey Pitta?

As a city centre worker I’m always on the look out for new lunch locations and when Pita Pit opened I was very happy to have a new option to try. When it first opened the ordering system was slightly chaotic but it’s now calmed down although it can get busy. The best way to describe it is — imagine Barburrito but with all the extras included(I hate paying extra for guacamole!!) You pick a filling and then choose your sauce, salad and cheese options while it’s made in front of you. It can also be toasted which makes it extra delicious. Filling options include haloumi as well as a number of meat choices. There’s also a salad box available but a colleague once went for it and instantly regretted it as it was mainly lettuce and not very filling. It’s fast,(vaguely) healthy depending on your choices and I think it’s decent value for money so it’s become a regular lunch choice for my colleagues and I. And in recent weeks planning permission has been granted for a second Pita Pit in the city centre(either Deansgate or St Ann’s Square — my mind has gone blank!) so keep an eye out!

I’d heard some vague rumblings about Pita Pit, but even though they’re super close to my office I wasn’t sure if it was worth walking any further than Go Falafel for my wrap fix on a Friday. In a sneaky/genius move I casually suggested it to my colleague, thus essentially sending him like a canary down the(pita) pit. He reported back that it was excellent so my sights were set on it for the following Friday. Amazing thing: they deliver to your office! Although the man on the phone was thoroughly puzzled at this concept and even more puzzled by the location of my office, it was easy peasy to order our wraps and they arrived quickly. Prices are decent and inclusive of all toppings: a small halloumi pita was £3.50 and a large one £4.50. My pita was delicious, packed with salty halloumi, tangy pickles and olives, juicy marinated peppers and fresh tzatziki. This is a solid option for lunch in the Piccadilly area — and they have an intriguing breakfast menu too.

Pita Pit is like the healthier, slightly cooler version of Subway, only with pitas rather than subs as the carby goodness to hold your filling in place. My friend and I picked here for lunch as we both wanted something that was not only tasty, but diet and purse friendly, not an easy feat to be fair. However Pita Pit stepped up to the mark on all these pre-requisites and we both really enjoyed it. The interior reminded me a lot of Barburrito but the set up is definitely more like Subway– you head to the till, select the pita and filling you want(adding in any meal deal type shenanigans) and then move down to the salad bar area where, once your pita and filling are ready you choose what extras you would like. Extras include things like houmous, guac, tzaziki, various salad items and dressings and sauces. As I’m both greedy and indecisive I pretty much went for everything on my spicy chicken wholemeal pita and didn’t think there was a cat in hell’s chance the guy would be able to roll it up but clearly he knew what he was doing. At this point you can choose whether or not you want it toasted which I did and it made the pita lovely and warm. My absolutely mahoosive pita cost £4.50 and really was very tasty. It also kept me full for ages and with no guilt, as healthiness is a big part of Pita Pit’s mantra. A pretty perfect quick and cheap lunch!

So you’re telling me that what I just ate was not only tasty but also reasonably healthy and good value? That was my positive outcome after deciding to nip into the newly opened PitaPit in the Piccadilly office area just opposite the train station. Upon arrival it struck me as a cross between Barburrito and Subway, with a number of Pita wrap options with meats, cheeses etc all served up with your choice from a really full salad bar. Sauces were complimentary as were the usual extras such as Hummus, Guac and Tzatziki — which was actually a really fresh experience as opposed to having to pay extra for everything all the time in other places. Anticipating a meat feast at Almost Famous in the evening, I went for the Halloumi wrap which was really good, not stingy at all on the cheese and for £4.50 it came home within my usual price range of what I’m happy to pay for lunch. There were steak and chicken options and loads of others if you want to fill up on carnivorous delights! Coffees and drinks seemed to come in at a good price and the staff were super friendly and efficient. They offer free wifi and there’s plenty of room to sit in if wanting to take a load off. Overall a great experience and one that I’ll be repeating soon!
