I like Sam’s wine celler, but I never noticed the name! Sam has said it all really, its just a quiet little vendor with a good selection of spirits, beers and cigarettes. On this name issue though, I once had a friend whose surname was Celler. Perhaps Sam is related to him, and the name is a joke based on that. If not, Sam does not seem a very clever chap. I’ve also done a bit of research into possible appearances into the word Cellar in foreign languages, but nothing. In conclusion, I vow, I promise, to all you Unilocalers right now, on the record, that next time I am in the area I will… ask Sam! Drumroll please.

I know you’re all thinking that I’ve spelt ‘cellar’ wrong. Well I haven’t. Look at the picture. Look at the sign. Sam has spelt cellar with an ‘e.’ Most unfortunate. Unless it’s a foreign spelling of the word. In which case I stand corrected. But we’re still in England, right? Despite this awful start(spelling is important, especially on something as important as a sign), Sam’s Wine Celler(sheesh…) is a fine little off licence. Quiet as anything, but with a good selection of spirits, beers and cigarettes as well as a few sweets and chocolates and that kind of thing. The guy behind the counter(who I really hope was Sam) seems a quirky but friendly character. It does what it says on the tine. Tinn. Tin. Got it.
