«Mr Sifter sold me songs when I was just sixteen…» Name-dropped in Oasis’s ‘Shakermaker’, Sifters is a secondhand music store that’s packed with racks of dusty old vinyl and CDs. As you’d expect, there’s 12″ and albums by the Gallagher brothers alongside older rock and roll bands like Rolling Stones, The Who, Led Zeppelin and The Beatles. You’re unlikely to find a copy of Cheryl Cole’s debut here but they also sell a small selection of new CDs by mainstream pop and indie bands like Vampire Weekend, The XX and Arctic Monkeys.
