Stick ‘em Up Art is a really funky little shop on the 2nd floor of Affleck’s which sells hand made paintings and prints which will add a splash of colour to any drab old wall. They also sell printed and customised lamps, ornaments and ashtrays which add a touch of wacky tack to the place. Stick ‘em Up Art is also a perfect shop to pick up a gift, especially for a zany art or teenage little brother. They can tailor things to suit your taste and create personalised pieces on demand(these cost a little extra). The staff are artsy, cool and fun to be around and they, like the shop, will really brighten up your day.

At first glance you’d probably think that this is just another ‘pop art’ studio of reproduced images of icons. However, I was pleasantly surprised, as these canvases are original interpretations of well known images, they’re very well executed and very very reasonable. Ok, so I can leave the Jim Morissons and the Kurt Cobains(been there, done that as a teenager studying art) but I’m not adverse to having Easy Riders Peter Fonda and Dennis Hopper gracing my wall for just £65. Check out their Big Cartel website too:

Great little gallery/art shop with fantastic concept. Here you can choose what you want and witness it being made– wooohoo. Entertaining aswell as stylish. Great prices and lovely lovely staff. I adore places that really let you get involved in the creative aspects of art. Makes it so much more fun and personal to you. Wish I was creative so I could get a job here– beats the office!
