I don’t understand why there aren’t more Taco Bell’s in the UK. What may be a common sight in the US is something of a rarity in the UK. At the hell on earth that is the Arndale food court, where people are queueing in long lines for KFC or McDonald’s, Taco Bell is something of a little oasis. Never long lines, service is always quick and soft drinks are refillable. There are numerous chicken, beef, pork and vegetarian options. I ordered a ‘Big Bell Box Meal’. This came with a taco filled with beef, salad and cheese, then a chicken burrito and the most delicious fries ever. Finally some churros with a chocolate sauce. 200% delicious! Ask for extra sachets of Hot Sauce!

Fell in love with Taco Bell when living the States. I am so happy there is now one near my home. My Kids now love Taco Bell, and will not eat at any other fast food place, my partner is also a Taco Bell fan and we have tried practically everything on the menu. Love it!

5STARS. I’ve been to Manchester too many times in my life, hell I used to live there, but what has annoyed me to the point of spitting feathers is that I just didn’t know where it was! So after a very hungover stroll up to the Arndale following a very heavy night out, my friend decided he wanted to get a McDonalds breakfast which I politely obliged to. And there it was in all its glory, Taco Bell. Following an afternoon of spending far too much money than I should’ve I decided to retreat back to the Food Court and divulge in a Taco Bell, demolishing a Volcano Burrito which was simply amazing, with nachos and cheese sauce. It may be fast food but it’s great food.

Was in Manchester with my wife this weekend, cutting through the mall when I saw the sign for Taco Bell and had to get a taco. I don’t know why, I have not gone to Taco Bell in the US in years, but ever since moving to Amsterdam last fall I have been craving it. I knew there were a couple in the UK, but had no idea there was one in Manchester, it was a nice surprise. Was happy with my soft shell taco and bean burrito, it took me back to my college years in the US.

Currently there are only 3 Taco Bells in the UK which is a shame. I’ll take this any day over all of the other options in England for lunch. They just need to open some in London…

I ventured to the Arndale Food Court considering eating at Wings Dai Pai Dong. Having just come from a meeting, however, I was in full business suit & a pristine white shirt. The chances of it remaining that way whilst devouring Roast Duck Wonton Noodles is likely to be pretty remote. So, I opted instead for the other unusual offering, Taco Bell. There are very few of these in the UK. I’d always enjoyed a quick bite from this chain when in the US, but this meal was close, but not quite as good. It seems strange, I guess, given that it is a franchised operation with set menus, ingredients & presentation, but something wasn’t quite hitting top marks. I started with the fries, which have a light spiced seasoning. Fairly crisp for fast food chips, so a reasonable beginning. The mid course of Soft Beef Taco(see picture for ingredients) was fairly bland. Fortunately, I’d taken the precaution to liven it up a little with Salsa Verde(hot green salsa). For the main event, I tried the current special version of their Grilled Stuft Burrito, which had Slow Cooked Pork instead of the normal chicken or steak. It was a tasty dish and quite filling, especially as your afternoon meal. I would recommend that you ask for a little extra Pepper Jack Sauce with yours, however. Once again, I’ve attached a picture with the ingredients. I’ve based my score on the fact that this is a fast food outlet as opposed to a full restaurant, with expectations set accordingly. I’d definitely go back, but perhaps going for the Churros in place of the Soft Taco. I will also return to Wings Dai Pai Dong when I’m in more appropriate attire to, «get a little messy».

Wasn’t that keen on it. I had a CrunchWrap — chicken, fries and also got a soft beef taco. The fries has some sort coating — bit of spice. Ok but the chips were really limp. CrunchWrap — the wrap had little flavour. Inside — didnt taste much chicken but plenty of mayo/tomatoes. Soft taco was alright but nothing particularly exciting. Only checked it out because I had a voucher. Unlikely to try it again.

Cheap and nasty alternative to the average Barburrito and the surprisingly decent Panchos. Had a burrito and nachos on a busy week night, service was quick, and the prices reflect the quality, but its a poor product. Food was lukewarm and stale, really did feel like it had been made two hours before, I went for the hottest they had, not out of misplaced machismo, but on the assumption the flavours wouldn’t be vibrant enough to induce one bead of sweat upony hungry brow. I was right to do so, disappointingly cold burrito and condiments. My advice, avoid the uncomfortable crowds of the food court and head to the two(albeit) dearer outlets mentioned earlier, that or simply have a go at making Mexican food at home, its fun, hard to mess up and probably a lot better for you. Bön appetite.

Man. I can’t believe I scarfed down a 7-layer burrito and a chicken fajita burrito in 2 minutes flat at lunch today. With extra FIRE sauce, yo. What possessed me to do such a thing? I can’t remember the last time I even set foot in a Taco Bell in the States(college, several eons ago?!), but here in England, all bets are apparently off. Nostalgia and homesickness obviously kicked in, which is funny, seeing I’ll be back in the States for Thanksgiving in a couple of days, where I’ll routinely ignore Taco Bells everywhere. Instead of having my typical salads from Marks & Spencer I just had. to eat. BURRITOS. Now, my fellow American colleague and I got to the queue and some nice lady smiled and said, «hi! Do you know how Taco Bell works?» Both of us scrunched our faces and did our best«Pssshhh…yeah. Like, we were born knowing how Taco Bell works. And your point is?» Which isn’t really true. We didn’t really say that, because we’re nice guys, but whatever. My British colleague stood there laughing behind us, telling us we were acting like goofy kids in a candy store. Goofy kids who apparently wear suits. We then sat down with our meals and started scarfing away. We both acknowledged that, in the end, Taco Bell is still Taco Bell. The food isn’t great by any means, but there’s something about a Taco Bell 7-layer burrito which is so familiar and yet satisfying. Will I be back? Well, Taco Bell *is* perilously close to my office. But maybe I’ll treat it as a monthly indulgence rather than anything more, because it really is a slippery slope(except maybe I’ll stealthily swing by to grab some extra FIRE sauce packets — one can never have enough of those). So, my rating. I can’t believe I’m even meriting a fast food joint 3 stars, but there you have it. Tu quieres Taco Bell?
