Had a lovely meal at the Talbot. It was mid afternoon on a Friday so not desperately busy and there was plenty of choice where to sit. They have a deal Monday to Friday 12 – 5 where you can get a main course and a dessert for only £4.95 and only an extra 50p for tea or coffee. I ordered plaice chips and peas, ham egg and chips, chocolate fudge cake with ice cream, apple crumble and custard, 2 cups of tea and a half pint of lager. Total cost £12.50. Absolute bargain!

Not a bad pub if you’re after a bite to eat. Pretty much in line with most purpose built, chain, boozers of the day.
Good spread on the menu, foods pretty much what you’d expect from a gaff like this. Beers a little expensive for the area but there’s a decent beer garden out front for the summer months.
They have a quiz and various other events on periodically too. And I’m pretty sure they do breakfast at weekends.
