Don’t know if you know but at the mo Tesco has a promotion on where you collect coupons and get 70% off Thomas Chef’s Knives. So I have collected some coupons(from the Tesco magazine which is free, therefore spending no money to get the coupons!) and bought a few knives so far. I visited this Tesco on my way back from Ashton and I wish I hadn’t bothered. I did my shopping(exactly the same as any other Tesco in the world) and went to the check out, put everything through packed my bags and gave the woman my coupons. No discount. Well, that won’t do. It wasn’t the girl’s fault — she hadn’t been told how the coupon system worked and I knew more about it than she did. The supervisor came over to help and the only solution she could come up with was putting all my shopping through again. I was in two minds whether to just scream in their faces and walk out. Didn’t think it would be as effective as it was in my head though therefore a waste of time. So I took a deep breathe and emptied £65 worth of shopping out of my reusable bags one by one while the poor girl re scanned everything. We had to do two separate transactions to make sure the discounts came off the knives. Then the girl didn’t give me any green points. Could I be bothered? NO. I will not be returning to this Tesco again, but I will be sending a letter of complaint and getting some green points!
