The authentic Thai decorations struggle to distract the customer from the quality of the food. I have always been a bit sceptical around Thai food but I was in Manchester and thought I’d give it another go. I have to say I am absolutely sold on it now. The rice and noodles were perfection, almost beating the other menu options. The attention to detail is to be idolised, for example on every dish there was a beautifully carved carrot in the shape of a lotus flower. Next time I’m in Manchester, Thai Spice is definitely going on the ‘to do’ list.

This review has been a long time coming. I’ve ordered many a meal from Thai Spice in Chorlton, and each time I’ve been a happy lass. I’m a sucker for the Pad Thai, even though my tastes run well beyond this staple dish. They just get it right, and for that reason I’ve ordered it time and time again. I usually get it with tofu and vegetables; vegetarians won’t be disappointed with the generous amount of both, and it delivers completely on flavor. We’ve also ordered the combination starter platter with chicken satay and ribs, and this is a real treat. The peanut sauce with the satay is gorgeous and tangy, and the ribs are tender and meaty. Definitely check out Thai Spice if you’re in Chorlton. It’s really one of the best restaurants in the area, and locals know this is also one of the best areas Chorlton has to offer.

Had some great authentic food here on Saturday night. Managed to get a table for 2 on a Saturday night walk in but it was the last one. Service was also very friendly, timely(food arrived at good time intervals) and professional. A little slow to pay the bill. Good selection of authentic Thai dishes. We had a chicken and cashew nut dish and a beef and black bean paste dish(please excuse the Thai names ignorance) and both were delicious(and authentic as I remember from my trip to Thailand) as was the coconut rice. Drinks selection quite small but all the basics there including Thai beers. Would definitely visit again.

Authentic fare. Great rice & noodle dishes and gaengs/curries. some gem appetizers(prawn toast! duck roti) and«salads”/yams(yam ped grob! yam waan sen! I wish they made more yam’s and som tam actually though(?!)) but the sinkers for me are the main dishes, esp. the Phad Nam Prik Pao… and the Phad Ma-kuer Yao… absolutely, great. If you love spice and dishes with plenty of veggies along with the protein. go for these, I would eat from here twice a week when I was in the area. The homemade smoked chili oil/sauce is insane! The best I’ve ever had. anywhere. Authentic and creative… two traits which are very hard to balance. This is «the Kings fare». truly, great«fancy» thai cooking without dulling the flavours(to the extent of their ability with regards to western availability) and without catering too strongly to the western palette. All of this while retaining the feel of a local gem. proper décor/setting, unpretentious, with friendly and attentive service, and even take-away. Great place. One of the better thai kitchen’s in the whole region for sure. A must if you’re in the area. and worth the bus ride to the last stop if you’re looking for great Thai.

This great little restaurant is located on the very popular Beech Road, Thai Spice can be found at the Chorlton Green end of the street. It’s a fairly small restaurant, and its interior décor is simple and modern, There are lots of mahogany tables with large very comfortable padded high backed chairs! Red chili lights hang from the walls alongside more traditional Asian-style tapestries. I like going to this restaurant when it is quieter during the week, as you are on beech road — it always has that weekend feel to it anyhow. The low level chill-out mood music is always very good too. I love the traditional Thai menu, and my personal favorite is the classic phad thai and spicy beef salad(£7.50) I find it quite filling, so with a drink and a starter, you are looking at spending just a little over £15, well worth it for the lovely chilled atmosphere!

Thai Spice in Chorlton offers authentic Thai cuisine in a modern and bright setting. I’ve been in here once for the early diner menu(available between 5pm and 6.30pm) and the staff got me sat down quickly and were very attentive. Granted, it wasn’t exactly their busiest time, but they seemed very professional and I’m sure this standard wouldn’t slip during rush hour. With the early dining menu, you get to choose a starter and a main from their varied menu for £11.95. One thing I will say though is that I’d like to see more fish dishes on offer at this restaurant. I absolutely love their Gai Satay Chicken as a starter, which is presented with a garnish and special peanut sauce. For my main I went for Pad Gra Tiem with beef, which is basically a stir fry with garlic and black pepper. It was simple yet delicious. Their Pad Thai was very authentic too, the classic dish that I always use as a benchmark in great Thai cuisine.
