Ok, I’m not a massive fan of corporate Spinningfields, but I really enjoyed Dockyard because: — good company — good music; Bowie! — £5 offer of pie. This came with mash, peas and gravy. — Titanic Plumb Porter on. — Friendly & prompt service The pie wouldn’t leave you stuffed, as was a middling size, but it was very tasty. So get down before the end of Jan, and take them up on their £5 pie offer. We were unsure if you actually needed the yellow Spinningfields card for this offer, so worth clarifying with them — they did not mention it on twitter. The ale was great, but was at the upper end of acceptable price wise. 40p off that, and it’d be 5*.

Love this place! So glad they have now opened in Manchester having been a frequent visitor to the Quays. Great selection of real ales and lovely food at really good prices. I’ve got a feeling I’ll be seeing quite a lot of the Dockyard…

I’ve been to The Dockyard a few times for drinks and once for food and i’m yet to fault it. It’s an extremely good pub situated in Spinningfields(where you’re surrounded by posh cocktail bars and restaurants alike) and is a great place for just good, hearty pub food. I tried their home-made cheese pie and it was one of the best pies I’ve eaten(and i’m from Bolton, and I’ve eaten A LOT of pies) The staff are friendly and knowledgeable about all the beers and ales they have on tap and the menus are varied, with some of the specials noted on the board as you walk in. Last time it was curry, rice and chips for something daft like £5! Bargain. I can see me and Neil C. spending a great deal of time in here!

This is very similar to the Dockyard which is in Media City — very industrial look but it is very pleasant at the same time. hey have the balance just right in my opinion as some places go OTT with he industrial look and it can make places feel unwelcoming. The beer selection is very good and I had a lovely pint of wheat beer. We shared a Spicy beef wrap which is great value considering you are in Spinningfields. The location is great for me as I work just across the water so can pop in if I feel like a good pin on my lunch breaks. Lets hope it continues to be as busy and doesn’t fall fate to the oher businesses which have closed down in the area…

We popped into this new branch of Dockyard last week on the day after opening. It’s very similar to the one down at Media City in terms of wide open space and minimalist decorating — but this isn’t a bad thing. A great selection of beers on offer from local breweries(I had the Odin beer from Brightside which always hits the spot) and a full bar for the non-beer drinking members of your posse! Spinningfields is always going to attract a lot of ‘suits’ but this place is very relaxed and hopefully should lead to a few ties off at home time — especially as there’s quite a bit of outside seating and it’s very close to the breeze coming off the Irwell. A nice new addition to Spinningfields.

Love it in here! A replica of the one in Media City UK. I was here for a couple of drinks and a catch up with Victoria B. Its had a bustling atmosphere when we were there on a friday afternoon. They have a huge selection of craft beers including the Seven Brothers beer. The Dockyard also have there own beer which is pretty nice and refreshing. I loved the whole theme to the place as you just felt you was sat in a Dockyard, a really really cool place and a great new addition to Spinningfields. They also have a few benches out on the front but it was a bit chilly on the day.

Having been impressed with Media City’s Dockyard I had high expectations of the Spinningfields branch. The area has always lacked a good bar/pub in my opinion — the Oast House is aesthetically out of place and very expensive — so the Dockyard is a welcome addition. Great local breweries on tap, tasty reasonably priced food and a cool glass front makes this a new go-to place for me in Spinningfields. The only downside is its location, it’s a bit out of the way of the hustle and bustle, but thinking again that might not be a bad thing.

Visited this new baby sibling of the MediaCity Dockyard last night with some colleagues from work. Located on Leftbank and overlooking the Irwell, I can imagine it becoming a hugely popular sun spot once summer well and truly kicks in — especially with the number of new restaurant/bar openings nearby. The interior and general branding is spot on in terms of consistency, with lots of booth seating and huge wooden tables. The bar is large, meaning it should be easy enough to get served on a busy evening, serving up a range of craft beer, cider, wine and spirits. Bar staff were a bit stiff when we first arrived, perhaps worried that we were all about order to food and cause some kind of kitchen meltdown, but warmed up with their chat and service during our stay. I initially went for a standard cider, but then spotted a raspberry cider on the chalkboard and switched — it was a bit too sweet, but nice to see somewhere branching out with their alternatives! Looking forward to revisiting and seeing whether the food can fare better than my experience in MediaCity.
