Well I’m salivating just thinking about the treats on offer at Beech Road’s prime location for a pig out session. I can never decide whether to go for the burgers(which are huge!) or pizza(which are plentiful!) but I have been trying to work my way through the menu. Helps to have a friend on hand to get a different order and«half and half» it, the meaty ones always appeal but the tandoori chicken is also really delicious. There’s plenty for the vegetarians as well, and even some salads if that’s what you go for… as well as some lighter bites and starters such as halloumi and houmous… but really go here for the pizza!

Great cocktails, delicious pizzas and a very cool setting but the service really let the place down. Reallllly slow service even for the drinks, to the point that we thought they’d forgotten our orders. That said, they do the most amazing bubble bath gin sharer cocktail and the menu was fun and exciting. Good spot for a Friday night with friends if you’ve got the time

Popped in for a light bite on a Sunday afternoon and was impressed. The menu had some good sounding dishes and options to share. The drinks menu is also rather amazing! We sat outside at a comfy table and staff made the two kids at our table very welcome, bringing over some fresh berries for them to munch on and hats and crayons. It took me a while to decide what cocktail to order and while my blueberry gin mojito was delicious, I was envious of a number of other cocktails I saw heading to other tables including one topped with home made candy floss! We are the sharing platter which was tasty and a generous portion and had a few sides too, the sweet potato fries were some of the best I’ve tasted. Would definitely head back again. Lost a star for only having one female toilet! There was a long queue when the place wasn’t even that busy.

I like it here. Bit different. At first I thought oh god are these folk are all to cool for school but just goes to show don’t judge a book by the cover. The décor and and style is clever taking the old into the new and the clue is in the title. The staff are friendly and chatty and make you feel at home. The food Look good although I didn’t actually eat here. What I think sells this place is its positioning and location with a large corner plot as Phil and Kirsty may say, the outdoor area is the feature. Nice and warmly heated and great for people watching. Also there is some hot totty walking through Chorlton so nice to soak it all up. Next time I’m eating here!!!

Bit hit and miss. The site of a former laundrette called Soap Opera. Probably would have done better as a dry cleaners as Burton Road is the posh bit of Chorlton where people have their own washers and dryers thank you. I liked the laundrette theme of the menus with laundry symbols as a nod to the previous occupants. I came here for a friend’s birthday meal and we all had a good time. We sat outside in January(!) as the patio heaters were on high and there were blankets available too. It was all pretty cosy and fun. I ordered ribs to start but they were super salty, to the point we all agreed something had gone wrong in the prep. The waitress was very nice about it and brought it back to the kitchen who agreed it was a mistake and offered a replacement starter on the house. The other shared starter was a Mediterranean mezze which was very tasty. I had mac’n’cheese for my main and it was good, creamy carby comfort food as it should be. My foodie friends that had the Laundrette burger were impressed and I’d probably go for one of those if I went back. I also had a cocktail as this is supposed to be where they really excel. Unfortunately I really didn’t like my first choice. It sounded great on the menu but I only had a couple of sips as I really didn’t like the taste. Again though the waitress was great and suggested some popular ones and the replacement was definitely something I’d have again. Unfortunately I can’t remember the name of either but I’d know them if I saw them! The birthday brownie, complete with candle, was lovely with a good ratio of squidgy vs. chewy for the texture. This was shared as we were all pretty full and the birthday boy was very noble. Overall I probably would go back as it’s got a good spot opposite the park with plenty of outdoor seating and(mainly) good cocktails.

Lots of outdoor seating, only half of which was accessible when we showed up during an almighty downpour. Like true Brits we braved the rain and stayed for food, even when half of our table was soaked. To eat we ordered a smoked ham and Bury black pudding pizza, fat chips with parmesan and truffle oil, and hummus with flatbread. The pizza was delicious, piled high with meaty goodness with a crisp base. Fat chips were pretty good. The hummus tasted okay, and there was a lot of it for the price, though I found the grainy texture quite offputting. Staff were great, with one member of staff in particular doing everything in her power to keep us dry, and giving us the option to cancel our order/get the food boxed up if the rain got too bad. We paid £25 for a pizza, chips, hummus, and two pints of Löwenbräu which isn’t bad value. Overall I would happily head back here, though maybe not while it’s raining.

This place was recommended to me as I wanted a casual meal in a cool place in Chorlton and this place didn’t disappoint. Everyone was sat outside and there was no room so we were briefly seated inside until a spot became available. On Sundays, there is a DJ. If you are sat indoors, this isn’t ideal as you can barely hear yourself talk. The menu/placemat is very amusing with terminology, symbols and pictures and my friend took one hope as a souvenir. Drinks are cool and are served in jars with coloured straws. This is a place to come to for cocktails and they have ahappy hour. We ordered dough balls to start with and a pizza each. My friend ordered the mushroom, pancetta and rocket pizza. The presentation of this pizza was disappointing as there was too much rocket placed on top. I opted for the smoked ham, black pudding and spicy sausage pizza. The pizza was really tasty. I got to the last quarter where I had to ditch the knife and fork and use my hands as the dough was a bit burnt but it was where all the meat was! The tomato base was really sweet and tasty which was the highlight of the pizza. Negatives, the music was too loud indoors, the seats are quite low and we struggled to get out of them or it may be that I’m getting old and with any alfresco dining there were a no. of smokers near us and the wait staff were not observant enough to get them an ashtray so there they put ash on the decking. Overall a great place to eat if you like being amongst the hip folk of Chorlton. Food and drink looks good and very fresh.

I popped to Launderette with my husband, 8 month old and sister late afternoon on a bank holiday. We just wanted to go somewhere for a casual drink and the busy outdoor space with people enjoying coffees, cocktail and pizza drew us in. We were greeted by a friendly server who explained that the patio is only open until a certain time due to licensing(which seems a shame) but as we only wanted a quick coffee it was no problem to seat us out there. We managed to grab a large table with low comfy sofa style seating and I can imagine happily whiling away a few hours with a few cocktails on a warm summer’s evening there. As I said, we only wanted coffee so I ordered a decent enough cappuccino and my husband and sister both went for flat whites. My husband wasn’t massively enamoured by his as to be fair it looked pretty much the same as my cappuccino and not the smaller, less frothy drink it should be. Most other people around us seemed to be enjoying cocktails from the pretty extensive and interesting sounding cocktail menu and lots of people were having food too. We didn’t look at the food menu but I think it is quite pizza heavy and the ones I saw looked pretty good. I’ve only given it a 3 as we didn’t experience everything they have to offer on this occasion and based on the flat whites not really being flat whites I couldn’t really give it a 4. All in all though it was a really pleasant place to have a drink and a chat in the sun and I’m planning on a return visit soon for a bite to eat and to try out the amazing sounding cocktails.
