I end up here fairly regularly and it’s arguably the best café in Chorlton for a Full English. It has some aspects of a greasy spoon such as ordering at the counter but the food is of a much higher standard being locally sourced e.g. their meat comes from Frosty’s butchers located only about 200 yards down the road. I’ve never been disappointed by their breakfasts in the 3 – 4 years I’ve been comign here which is a high praise indeed. They regularly have a market outside in their outdoor area and there’s always some great crafts to buy. There is also a very active social schedule they have of themed nights, talkers and special events. I’ve not gotten to any though as I don’t live on Chorlton but they do look tempting. Called the Post Box because the café adjoins Chorlton Post Office. It used to actually be more of an annex and you coudl actually walk through to the Post Office though this has been closed off now to give a little more space to the café, which still isn’t the biggest and can be a squeeze with a group of more than 4 people. But we always seems to manage somehow. You couldn’t find more pleasant staff and they have a great cake selection as well. The only reason they don’t get 5 stars personally is because there coffee isn’t exceptional. It passes muster as a drink to have with your breakfast and a caffeine hit. But there are others places I would head to in Chorlton for a take out drink. Which is fine it’s clearly not their focus.

This delightful café in the heart of Chorlton will often be the first place locals suggest you go when visiting, and for good reason. The service is excellent with an owner who clearly loves and takes pride in what he does(The Post Box goes well beyond the remit of a café and hosts many interesting evening activities). The food is reasonable and substantial! I can whole-heartedly recommend any of it. My particular favourite is the eggs benedict which is cooked beautifully with a wonderful sauce. The ingredients are all of excellent quality giving the food a premium feel in taste but without an unreasonable price. Overall, The Post Box is an excellent all rounder and well worth a visit.

Always a top notch spot for brunch or a hangover lunch! Cheerful, quirky and extremely accommodating, the Post Box is my favourite place for breakfast in Chorlton. They serve a full range of brunch treats from pancakes to the old classics, as well as sandwiches and cakes for later in the day. The owner Chris puts his heart and soul into the place, and the staff are always friendly. Quick service and I’ve booked there before when coming with a larger groups. Another thing to mention is that they host regular events, including markets, pop up diners, and a Wednesday night cake club(free on your first visit! Bake cakes to take home!). All in all, hard to fault the Post Box, a lovely independent café

Living close by, the Post Box is becoming something of a daily habit for me. Their espresso drinks are good, what little I’ve sampled off the menu(usually toast and eggs if I can’t be bothered to make breakfast) is fairly priced, but this place really shines for the staff and the patio out front. Great on a sunny day for sitting with a book, a coffee date, or just people watching on Wilbraham Road.

The Postbox is a gem. First things first, the food is high quality, no messing, good ingredients. Secondly they don’t just follow the crowd, the pancakes and bacon is a fine example with an absolute mountain of pancakes, maple syrup and a little salad which frankly if given to me anywhere else I’d launch. Here though it’s done well and really goes great with the other food. The coffee is of a decent standard, which is well needed in Chorlton despite the glut of coffee shops. Get the fry up if you don’t want pancakes, it’s more expensive but it’s big, and especially tasty.

The boyfriend and I were having a Sunday jaunt around Wilbraham Road’s various charity shops when we walked past the Post Box. My interest was immediately piqued by the sight of delicious looking Eggs Benedict on someone’s plate, and next thing I knew I was inside ordering the Post Box eggs — basically Eggs Benedict with spinach and mushrooms. Himself opted for a pulled pork ciabatta which he made positive noises about. The prices were incredibly reasonable for the area, and the food was really good quality. The staff were friendly and helpful and the outdoor seating was perfect on a sunny day. It’s in a convenient location for locals and visitors alike, and I can definitely recommend popping in.
