Twilight Salons

Sorry Twilight, 2 stars it is. I hate giving out 2 star reviews. As the number of my reviews grow, you can really see my desire to always be giving out 3+ stars, but I’m getting strict on myself now.
Twilight Salons caught my eye in a Manchester voucher booklet; cheap, me? Offering 50% off to all new customers was too good to miss, especially with the standard haircut being around £40 in this fair city, so I took them up and booked myself a slot. The salon itself is hidden away, giving it a really nice atmosphere in terms of the other clientele, who all seem to be regulars. The staff were super friendly but, actually, didn’t seem that interested — not that I’m asking for a real hairdresser chat, but being asked the same question a few times can be tiring. There was also a real push on selling additional products, such as hot oil treatments and their makeover service, making it feel more focused on their own profit than their customer’s experience. I went away really happy with my haircut but, after a few days, it started to feel like it had grown out and was slightly uneven at the back, suggesting the hairdresser had gone with my outgrown style as opposed to restyling properly.
Ho hum. It’s only hair but with no more 50% off to be taken advantage of I think I’ll try somewhere new next time.

This is the worst photo studio I have ever been to in my life! Booked myself and my sisters in as a birthday treat for one of my sisters through an offer I found on Groupon and I can now see why it was so cheap. The makeup was terrible and the service was absolute rubbish! We were rushed like mad by the photographer as they had another group after us, therefore we spent our entire time there feeling harrased regardless of the fact that we had paid for the experience and had just as much right to take our time as everyone else! So much for ‘upto 6 outfit changes’ as the offer specified. There was no room to change in either which was ridiculous! And to make matters worse we had to spend our time moving our clothes and shoes round the studio room so the photographer could use the area! Furthermore, the consultant was extremely rude and ill mannered during our photograph viewing session as we did not want to buy extra photos!!! Overall I would not recommend this place to anyone as it is disgraceful and an absolute waste of time and money! I left feeling terrible having taken my sister there as a birthday treat only to put her through a horrible experience. Will not ever be going back to the place!

Finally, a hairdressers I feel I could trust with my curls! I had a great cut here, nice and short and it’s sitting well for the first time in ages so thumbs up!
Twilight appears to do all things hair and beauty related and is always full of customers that seem like regulars. At least the atmosphere feels that way anyway. Staff are all very friendly and down to earth and seem to all be one big happy family. Clients seem happy and relaxed. Nice tea too.
I’ve only had my hair cut once here but have been in several times due to mysterious scheduling issues. My appointment seemed to have either moved a quarter of an hour earlier or later without my knowledge and I’m sure I always made it for a time that was on the hour. I would give yourself plenty of time for the cut as it can be busy, meaning you’ll probably be waiting. Anyway, all has been forgiven since they didn’t make a mess of my hair and they’re so nice!

Thought I would try a Groupon discount offer, big mistake. Although on entering the salon could easily be confused with someones front room, and clients have to hover around from the studio upstairs because there is no space or chairs. I thought I would give them the benefit of the doubt. However the staff were disorganised and the manager was rude and un-​helpfull. There are a lot of nice hair salons around in Manchester but this certainly isn’t one of them so wouldn’t bother I certainly wont be again!
