Nails & Brows

Having read good things about Nails & Brows, I decided to check it out this summer. Bonus: a Unilocal check-​in offer for a brown shape with pedicure. Score! I was planning on getting a pedicure.
My thoughts after the time there were that the brows bit of this business is superior to the nail bit. My pedicure was ok. But I chose the fancier option due to my crazy callus-​prone tootsies, and by that evening it was clear that they hadn’t really been dealt with well — just heavily moisturised. So, not a bad pedicure at all, just not the one I asked for/​paid for. Mostly just basic and not worth the £40some paid.
Unfortunately, another negative about this place was the other clientele. A man came in who clearly was familiar with most of the staff and proceeded to be loud, obnoxious, and racist. I was trying to just let my pedicure dry, but he tried engaging everyone in the place in his horrid conversation/​ranting — even going so far as to make comments about the race & ethnicity of his technician and comment on «her people.» It was incredibly uncomfortable. None of the staff said or did anything, even though it was clear he was making others uncomfortable.
Once I escaped upstairs to the brow bar, I was happier. The brow shape was great. Prior to this visit, I’d never had my brows done professionally. Far too many instances of seeing friends with waxing and/​or threading disasters on their faces. So I was very clear about what I wanted — just a bit of shaping, nothing drastic. And I got just that. Fast, professional, and really well done.
Overall it was a good treat for myself, if a bit overpriced for what I actually got. The atmosphere left a bit to be desired, but I would consider going back for a brow touch-​up.

I had an excellent experience here. The salon fitted me in for a brow shape and shellac on the same day that I phoned up. I received a warm welcome and the therapists came to greet me and led me to the location of the treatment. The salon was spotlessly clean and decorated subtly. I was happy with my brow reshape — the specialist asked me how I wanted them to look and gave me the shape that I wanted. The therapist who did my shellac was very friendly, and I didn’t feel rushed at any point. She took a lot of care over the shellac application and I love the end result! I will be going back!
